View Full Version : Dry H2's?

Did anyone else experience a dry H2? My H2 was completely dry when I took it home nearly a year ago. It started to squeak in the back so I took it back to the dealer and they lubed it as it should have been before I took delivery. The squeak went away so that was definitely the problem, however, when off-roading I experienced a strange popping/bumping noise that came from the front of the vehicle. Only after fully compressing the suspension did the noise go away, which leads me to believe again it was not properly lubed. I have couple of concerns. First, I have had 3 oil changes at Sherman Oaks Hummer. The first time they forgot to put my oil filter back in so I ended up with oil on my driveway. The second time I took it in they failed to put the dipstick back in. It was sitting on top of the engine. The third time turned out ok but these guys rush through the job and I don't believe they are lubing the H2's as they should be (for off-road performance). If I knew how and had the time I would do it on my own. I just wish these Caddy dealers would get with it and take care of these vehicles like they should be. Maybe they need more training from GM.

sorry you've been having probs with Sherman Oaks' service center -- I take my H2 to Thousand Oaks Caddie/Hummer (even though I am in Studio City) and have always been pleased with the service. Don Howard in Hummer service has been very helpful. It's worth the drive to me.
I too am experiencing the popping noises in the front (one of very few probs I've had with my truck -- knock on wood) and will have it checked out the next time I'm up there.
