Please! Can anyone help? in the recent past my nav/radio went out for a few days and before I got to open up the dash it came back.. When it came back everything functioned correctly with the exception of my Ipod. It was dead. Now the Head unit is gone again and I have a faint hum through the small overhead speaker which is in the head liner aft of the OnStar Mic. the OnStar controls have power but there is no sound when they are activated. Does anyone have any thoughts? I have a 05 Nav unit with the USASpec Ipod adapter in place of the CD Changer and Sirius in place of the XM Factory unit. Any Help or thoughts would be appreciated.
   :(

All my problems started with installing USASpec adapter. I had got it from
circuitcity , but they don`t carry it anymore , I would recommend , that
you take out USASpec and reinstall the head unit only. See if everything is
working or not. I have ordered a Peripheral, PXGM24 . I will install it
as soon as I receive it. I can keep you updated , I hope the results would help

I've disconnected the ipod adapter to no avail. I guess I'm going to have to open the console and dash and start running the lines to see if there is anything obviously burnt or damaged? Does anyone have a suggestion on where to begin my search? The fuses are all fine?

I think you are taking the best option , by opening the console and checking the connections. I would also take out all the cables and connectors which came with the USASpec adapter , and connect the OEM connectors to the
head unit. Unless there is something visibly wrong with the cables or connectors.Otherwise the head unit should work. Just to update you I received the Peripheral, PXGM24 V2 today , and installed it. It works . It is probably too soon to say anything good or bad about it , because the USASpec adapter that I took out worked for couple of weeks before starting to cause problems.
But what was a major concern for me from day one was that the USASpec adapter displayed the XM 1 and XM2 before switching to CD changer input
to be used for the iPod. the reason I need 2 inputs is that I need an input
for the iPod and an Input for the satellite phone.
I hope to hear from you , to see how is every thing going with the problem.

I still have not run down the problem. I unplugged the cable from the Ipod adapter and the unit is still dead. My system functioned flawlessly for a year before this problem occured. It's going to be a week or so before I can get to tearing the truck apart. I have several trees down from the Ice Storm that I have to deal with in the near future. I'll post again when I open things up. I'm supprised that no one else has anything to add here. The forum is usually more help than this? Does anyone have any thoughts?

Candlemuse, I had the same problem with the USA-Spec. It worked great for about 3 weeks then my radio went dead. As soon as I unistalled it the radio worked fine. I sent USA-Spec between 4 and 5 emails and they never responded to any of them. I went out and purchased the GM-24 and I have had it installed for about 2 months now. It works great so far.

On the usaspec you need to get behind the radio unplug the usaspec harness from the radio, unplug the usaspec harness from the factory radio harness and plug the factory harness into the radio.
