Does anyone have even a general idea what a hood for a 1999 H1 would cost, either new from AM General or used? For that matter, anyone have a recommendationf or site(s) where I can find parts like this in the future? Just researching right now.

Buy it from Travis @ RubberDuck 4x4. He'll give you the best price, and he does not charge shipping. Shipping from AMG is free, but dealers and many other parts distributers charge you for shipping anways. A hood will be coming by freight, so if you do not have a loading dock shipping would set you back a good amount of $$$.

Thank you. I am located in Canada, but can accept shipments at our docks. If he cannot ship to Canada, our dealers throughout the United States can accept dock shipments and then transfer to our trucks returning to corporate.
I will need to call him next week. Their e-mail address is bouncing, apparently due to misconfiguration on my end.
Thanks again!

I saw one or two listed on ebay last week. Maybe still there.

I did a quick search, even for completed items, and was unable to find one. I will keep looking though. :)

That is cool. Right now, I am just looking at an H1 on eBay that requires one. I've spoken to a few others though, and the general suspicion is that he rolled it. (It used to be a wagon or hardtop, now it is a softtop.) It also looks like he sold anything of value from it and replaced it with cheap replacements. But I'm still interested in the cost of a hood if I go that route. :)

I know the truck you are talking about. If you get serious about purchasing it make him take it to a dealer and get a PPI on it. Without one I would not touch that truck with a ten foor pole.

That is the general impression that I got after reading the Hummer Mailing List. I have seen it on eBay a few times in the past, and even the photographs are confusing, as parts are in some photographs but missing in others. I would like to pick the place he takes it to for inspection, too.
