I had mine Marker lights installed about a month ago with the fix kit. no problems.. No noise at 120 Mph...:jump: ..

Just kidding. They look good and are quite. Had the rig up at 70mph and no noise.

Go for it..:clapping:

Every now and then I get the whistle and the crackling noise, but for me it is so intermitent that I don't know if I should even bother taking it in, for fear it may come back worse.

I have the Off-Road lights and GM dealer just called me today and said my fix kit was in, get the fix installed Friday... Let you know after that!

I had posted this once before but thought it was applicable to post here once again. I originally had the noise with my marker lights. It sounded like the base of the lights was slapping up and down against the metal roof. This was not constant, but defintely embarrassing and a real nusiance. I had the dealer install the kit to no avail. The noise was still there. The next fix was to move the entire marker light fixture back about 1/4 inch as far as it would go until it rested against the leading edge of the XM antenna. I then took it down the road in several different directions reaching 99mph until the govenor cut in. I did this 3 or 4 times and never heard the noise again until about 4 months later and it came back. Investigation revealed the mounting screws had only vibrated loose. These were tightened and everything was fine once again. If you ever get the noise stopped, don't forget to check them every so often because the mounting bolts will vibrate loose.

That is my story with marker lights. I love them and have absolutely no regrets.

Cool, I'm going to have to check and see if they are tight, because now I am getting the slapping sound at over 55 when the wind is blowing also.

Just got back from the GM dealer to have the wind noise fixed on my Off-Road light bar and it seems they have 2 part #'s and they ordered the wrong one. I don't know the diffeerence and he didn't either but the part # they say I need for the Wind Noise fix is 19166037 and they had ordered 19166038. Anyone else get the wind noise fixed with this part #?

They said they should have the part in about a week.

be prepared...if the holes on the new fix don't line up right, step #6 is something like "Send to body shop to have original body holes welded"..

Hope that works for you!

On our first H3, we had the dealer install the Off-Road lights before we picked up the truck. Fortunately we never had one sound of noise from them.

Totally different story with our second truck and the marker lights....

The real fix kit would have been for the factory to just install the indivdual lights into the roof.
Why couldn't that be done?
It would look so much better than to have a grey piece of plastic extend across the front.

A lot of folks want to add the lights after the original sale...it would be much more difficult (and expensive) if it wasn't a kit...if you put them on ALL H3s, the vehicle cost would go up accordingly -- and even though a lot of people here love them, a LOT of people wouldn't care to have them if it meant another $500 up front.

The message I read states "Marker lamps" not "off-road lamps." Make sure the repair will work before they attempt.
