Somewhere on this forum there's a picture of one.
I wanted it mainly to reduce the engine heat cooking the hood when i'm out in the desert and it's 110 deg out. I've seen too many older cars with that brown rust spot in the middle of the hood.
I found one at Jegs but I'll have to trim it to fit. Exact fit is easier to put in.

They list it as a special order item. Which means they don't have it in stock. gmpartszone lists it but I didn't bother trying to order. Hummerpartsonline wanted $75 for shipping and handling. Almost as much as the blanket.
The generic one I found will probubly work better and save me a little cash too.
I don't need a big H3 under the hood just for the mechanic to look at:beerchug:

I went directly to Jerry Seiners (The GM Guy) parts department. I figured their ebay store would have the same results.
When the parts department called to tell me he couldn't get it I was looking at that site and told him their ebay store listed them.

Is it machine washable or dryclean only?

I just ordered it on ebay from Jerry Seiner. It'll be interesting to see what happens. Considering their parts department couldn't get it.

What is the purpose of the blanket?

Sound proofing or insulation?

I still think it should be called underhood woobie. Just has a sort a jingle to it. :beerchug:

It has no purpose and will smell like piss after hitting the mud trails and cooking all day under the hood.:excited:

Personaly I try to avoid sticking my head under the hood at all.:giggling:

underhood woobie... I like it.

Got an email saying I will be notified when the item ships. I wonder how long it will take to ship it 30 miles.:D

My old Blazers had them and the dirt eventualy fell off. I'm not getting it for pretty. Just to reduce some of the heat from baking the paint on the hood.

As for sound insulation I drove a loaner 07 base without undercaoting and there was noticibly more road noise than my 06 adventure with undercoating. I don't think the woobie will make much of a difference in the sound department.

Depending on the color of the truck I think the blanket would keep more heat in the engine compartment

Maybe it would be quieter on the outside

Maybe since they have fixed the head problems they discontinued the blanket
