I asked before about 6 months ago, but I was curious. I just turned 30k in my H3, runs beautiful. I like the H3 so much I think I am going to keep it until about 50k or so and then get a new one. At one time i thought I would get an H2 after this one, but I like the 3 better.

I would consider the H2 SUT though I really like that model. For me though the milage is a drag on the h2's, I am a Realtor, plus live in a rural area, so I drive about 20k per yr.

God Bless her, Tell her thanks for taking care of the strays. We do the same, catch them have them fixed and get the shots and then let them go back. I use a regular Vet and not a snip and cash one. I have even done this with a few Raccoons at the park. We are trapping one this week to have cataracts removed.

Eeek! You capture stray dogs and have them fixed?! THEN put them back on the streets? That doesn't sound right, aren't you supposed to take them to the humane society? Where are you guys finding all these stray dogs anyways? I have yet to see a stray dog in the United States.

LOL, if not a joke then you have led a sheltered life. K9 might be pushing the envelope (a little) by doing eye jobs on racoons but we need to have social responsibilities or the whole world will go to hell...

Must have been sheltered because I haven't seen a stray dog. But I know someone who found a stray dog and took it in, so maybe not that sheltered after all! I didn't see that dog though, so who knows.

Wouldn't the responsible thing to do for a stray dog be... call animal control? Take it to the humane society? Adopt it? Not just feed/water them and keep them on the streets to eventually die a painful death or until they attack someone and get put to sleep?

I understand what you are saying

BUT

she has no facilities at her home to shelter the animals plus animal control etc take days to come out and retrive them

PLUS

she has 2 Great Danes at home (1 attact trained) who are VERY PROTECTIVE of her...

HAHAHAHA, ok you two. I will clarify this some, cats we fix and put back at the park, Dogs I keep for myself. Both my dogs I have gotten as strays, the one has passed away 1 year ago this week and the other is still running the roost. As for the Raccoons, I have 2 at the park that we keep healthy. Yes both are wild and will only come to me.
As for being attacted traind, the only thing my dog will attack is a treat...

about 9000 miles in a few weeks short of a year. only problem -- the emergency brake release handle fell off twice and the 2nd time it broke totally. you dont even need it since you can release by just pulling the internal metal bar that the handle was attached to. my dealer has one waiting for me. other than that, the vehicle is great, just hate the price of gasoline.

Two inspections and 4 shop visits and they said I would have to come spend a few hours to "try to relipcate" the issue. Was changing teh brakes yesterday and the ball joint is shoot. At least YOU HAVE a local gm service department that can work on them!
I dread the day I have a significant problem with mine and have to put it on a flat bed for the 1,000 mile trip to San Diego!!! I doubt GM would be reimbursing me for any of that cost.

40k, one alignment, two rear end repairs, door seal on drivers side still leaks after three visits. The seats are breaking down, I'll probably have to have them reupholstered as they're getting unbearable on long trips. My feelings about it being under powered have been diminished by two things: We sold our Denali and the Alpha would cost us HUGE amount of money. I'm keeping the H3 and saving for a new Caddy CTS. GM has been extremely good to us.

Damn bunch of lightweights.

Just turned 80,000 yesterday. Total since memorial weekend of 06. :dancingbanana:

How many vehicles do you have? Hell, I have two solid weeks butt time this year in my fishing boat!!! (dang the new seats in my boat are nice!)

I am more than half way through my second set of tires on the Hummer though. I've only got 12k on the BFG ATs and they're more than half gone.

'06 H3 Base, manual tranny, purchased June '06- 92,000 miles- purchased GoodYear Silent Armor AT's the day I bought the truck- they are still good and I will probably get another 10,000 miles out of them. Brakes are at about 40%.

This is my work truck (I have a sales territory), and I frequently tow with it. Only synthetics lubes used in the vehicle. No issues except for a bad heater core upon delivery.

At 100,000 miles I will write up my long term evaluation of my H3 (I should hit it in January). -Z

LOL, lightweights! Glad to hear everyone is having great luck with high mileage on their H3. Purchased mine on 6/1/07(8mnths ago) and have 22500 miles on it. Had three 4Runners(all reached 200k+miles) prior to buying my H3 an was concerned about dependability. My H3 is my work vehicle. So all of my miles are highway. Love my H3!!

Enjoy it!

Bought my 06 H3 in September 07 and now have 42,300 miles. Those fishing holes are quite the drive in Alaska ;-). Anyway, for the most part, runs like a charm...my routine issues are door mech freezing, window/pillar moldings coming loose, window and seat buttons poorly positioned, poor gas mileage, etc., but when it comes to feeling secure with a solid ride, this has been the best vehicle I've ever owned. Not sure if I want to keep this forever, or get V8 in year or so. If I keep it, need to start contemplating an extended warranty as this will expire soon.

1/19/08 700miles, Alpha eats gas like crazy 11.2mpg on first tank! Comming from a 4x4 Canyon with the I5, I can't keep my foot off the right pedal. Love that V8 sound and performance. Thank god company I work for pays for my gas!

Bought May 2005 - Beautiful Shadow Green Metallic
Sold to son in Dillon, CO Oct 2007
Current mileage 53,127 11-3-2008
No engine or driveline problems. Plastic roof trim cracked and was replaced under warranty. Driver's window lift motor shorted out after three years, but that's it. Most reliable American Vehicle I ever owned. Still has original brakes. two front windshields and one headlight replaced because of rocks.
Bought H2 in May 2008
