I had a K&N on my 03 and didnt notice much other than the noise, maybe a little more torque. I think because of the better sound maybe I drove it harder and got 10mpg average. I just got a 05 all stock, I can definately notice not having the K&N, it doesnt have that 2nd gear power and sound. On the other hand I am getting 12-13mpg.

I put mine on in about 30-45 minutes and I am by no means a gearhead. Every couple of months I did have to tighten it up a little.

Stick with the stock set-up. It will tolerate some water ingress with it's diverter system that's not present on any aftermarket system. The stock air filter is better at keeping silica fines out of your engine than any aftermarket gauze and oil filter.

Aftermarket intake tubes and filters cause more intake noise, decrease in filtration quality, and eliminate water ingress protection, that's not a mod you want to do unless it's a road queen and you think a noisey intake = power.
