Ok, I know the CAI question has been passed around and around too many time in here...but I'm going to ask one more time.

I'm seriously thinking about buying a Volant Air Box!

What I would like advice on is:
Is this a good idea?
Is this a waste of money?

Those that have a CAI......do you stand behind it, or not??

My last truck was a Dodge Ram 5.9L....with an Airaid CAI....I did notice more increase of power and torque and also that somewhat annoying hissing noise from the filter. But, I also had catback dual exhaust and a Jet performance chip.

Anyways, I would really appreciate any serious help....

Thanks

I know this is not for a Hummer. but it is all the brand name after market filters for a duramax, with independant test results. The same brands make filters for the hummer. Check it out, it is good reading, and really shows that the aftermarkets flow more air, and it shows the cost of it also.

So the way I see it my K&N filter system is doing more harm than good?

Thats what the tests show. I used to be sold on the AFE proguard 7.... But there are really no gains to be seen from it, and all it does is allow more dirt through.

Its crazy.....

The stock filter and intake tube should not be messed with, the stock filter does the best job and the stock transistion tube is the only design with a water ingress bypass box.

If you run anything else you'll just putting more abrasive fines through your engine and risking water ingress when wheeling.

Don't buy into the marketing hype.
