I'm NOT saying this to make you feel bad, I'm saying it because it's all true.
As for Ford trucks. I don't, and probably won't own one. I've got two buddies with 'em. Both 6.0 diesels. The tally on the one: Blown turbo, the clamp busted, turbo fried. Covered under warranty. Blown tranny, just out of factory warranty, they told him it's his cost $1500 repair. AC died... twice. Rear end croaked, Ford fixed that. Something in the dash died, this is where the story sits now. Beautiful black dually. The reason this is all so vivid to me is that last I saw the truck a few weeks ago, he had it on his gooseneck towing it to town with his Dodge. He's got a lawyer and is going to lemon law it. It's been sitting down at the Ford dealer since then. He's a tough guy, I think he'll win. The mere word "Ford" makes his cowboy hat move up an inch when the veins in his head stand out. Granted, he works his truck but his backhoe/gooseneck is not over the rating of the truck.
The other one, another F-350. Dead AC, Ford fixed it. Croaked tranny, Ford fixed it, but not without a fight going through corporate. The two week long plus visits in the dealership make him a little cheesed too. He had a front end bearing failure. He went with a whole replacement kit on both sides getting rid of the krappy uni-bearing assemblies (so much for SFA superiority), replaced the front rotors at the same time (had a little warp/pulsation going on) He tows his fifth wheel quite often, but again, it's not over the tow rating.
I guess if they're used for grocery gitters, Fords are ok. One other comment on them though is that issue after issue after issue of Diesel Power Magazine proves that the Fords just don't do well modified. People buy 'em, chip 'em etc. and tbey break, period. I didn't make this up, it's in every freakin' issue. If anyone here DOES buy a Ford, they'd do very well to keep it stock. Anyone having good luck with their Ford is having just that.

I have 2000 F-250 7.3ltr with 208,000 in the driveway:shhh:
This is my 4th power stroke all well over 250,000 when I sold them
Look at the ebay pics and you will see it in the driveway. You will also see my 1993 chevy in the driveway. Anyone like chevys? Some do some dont.
As for Dodge, well just ask my buddy. It's been in and out of the shop for the last 4 years with everything from AC to the tranny.
Like every thing else including the H3, they have their problems:dancingbanana:

Fords.......
Now built in Mexico!?!?!?!?
Pedro for president!!!!
2006 An expected reduction in workload, as well as the idling of the Norfolk Assembly Plant for several weeks through the end of this year, could lead to large-scale layoffs at the plant much sooner than expected, union officials said Friday.
Ford got miffed at all the rumors and just shut the plant down, kick evryone of OUR hard working fellow Americans out on the street.
If you spoke Spanish than they gave extensions to help set their plant up in Mexico and teach Jose how to do your old job.
Isn't Ford a great name brand of truck to buy nowadays?

Just like America, fix or rebuild later. My truck has nothing to do with life. Ford will stock lots across america with what ever makes them money. Just like GM...or IBM all job's are moving out of town. Can't tell by the sticker.
Want a deal on a H3? save 10 grand on a nice one....:perfect10s:
This is a very nice truck.

why are you selling your H3. I've had mine for 6months now, and I dont wanna sell it, i feel like I havent driven it long enough.
But how can you go from a hummer to a ford 250. Equally priced maybe. But not equally as prestigous.
Ps.
Hey guys...DONT BUY A HUMMER IF U DONT WANT TO KEEP IT!

Put the popcorn down:violin: :violin: , the hummer belongs to my wife. She just started a business and needs a truck and she cant use the 2 trucks of mine. The Ford in the driveway is my company truck and the Chevy is a 1993 and she will tear it up with the trailer she needs to pull.
This Hummer is for sale for a good price, so all you wann-be Hummer folks need to jump on this offer and quit waiting for your mom to buy you one, that aint gonna happen:OWNED: .
The reserve is set around 24k

Not bad, at least a couple grand better than trading it in. But if you look at the annual depreciation hit, it's pretty darn high.

Check with your tax accountant, maybe you can write that bath off (if it can somehow be justified as business-related).
Agreed, minimum $3K hit just to drive it off. First year is the worst by far.

:iagree:
The last 2 vehicles I've sold I had appraised at the dealership, where they were looking to practically steal the cars from me. Then I took them to Carmax to see what they would give me, and both times Carmax offered at least $2K more than the dealership.
We ended up selling both privately for $3-4K more on each. :dancingbanana:
Carmax isn't bad if you don't want the hassle of selling on your own. Definitely better than the dealership!!!
