I just mounted 35 inch mtx tires on the stock 7.5 inch rims. Not only do they fit they do not rub at all! I have had many tires on vehicles and these by far are the smoothest i have had. I had the 285's on it stock and the 35's ride just as well. No vibration whatsoever. I did crank the torsion bars 1.5 inchs just to almost level it out. However you don't need to do that to get the 35's to fit. You can't tell much difference looking at it from the side view but from the front or rear it looks a lot more agressive. I couldn't be happier with the way it looks now. By the way, no noticable power loss at all.

are you going to have the dealer recalibrate the speedometer to accurate?

I failed to say that the tires I purchased were Mickey Thompson MTX baja's. By the way there is no road noise at all.

Also for your info the 35" will fit on the spare tire mount in the back without spacing it out or doing any mods. It makes it nice to have a matching spare.

I will try and post some pictures next week on different angles etc... I'm not that computer savy but I promise I will do what I can to get them to you.My digital camera is at work and I won't be back til Monday. I just took it over to my son's to show him and he agreed that from the side unless you really know what your looking for, it doesn't look that much different, but he did agree that it looks a lot different from the front and rear angles than the 285's. Not to mislead anyone the actual tire size is a 315/75/16 which measures 331/2" tall.Depends on what brand you go with some may run a little different in size. The way I have mine set up, anything over this size you will have issues with rubbing.

I actually talked personally to the service department before I did any mods.I had told them exactly what I was going to do and they told me that it would not void the warranty. The day I was going to have the tires mounted I called and asked again just to be sure and they told me the same thing. Keep in mind that it is their word against mine. Who knows what would happen if I had a problem. It is a chance you take. We cranked the torsion bars on my sons Nissan X terra 1.5 over 40000 miles ago and he has had no problems at all.
Cranked 1" the ride is the same. 1.5" and you can tell a slightly stiffer ride. Depends on how picky you are. Your back end will still be about 1" higher than the front when you crank it to 1.5" I would not recommend going over the 1.5" mark.My wife drives it every day and has no complaints. We both had made the comment that with the bigger tires it actually rides and handles better. For her to notice the difference really shocked me because I had thought the same thing but just didn't mention it to her.

I will post as soon as possible. I plan on taking pictures tonight and hopefully getting them on tomorrow if everything goes well. If nothing else it will be sometime this week.

Whatever you do get the front end aligned if you crank your torsion bars. Also in the pictures from behind I still have the 285 on as the spare. I have ordered the 35 that will replace it which will be in this week. Once again it will fit as I have already tried it.

I did take pictures and posted them. If you look back under search, (humv)you will see that they were there. For some reason the pictures are no longer there just the discussion on them.
