She'll incease taxes on their profits and they'll just increase the price at the pump to cover it. We're already paying several taxes on a gallon of gas as it is.
But have to agree 7 billion first quarter is excessive. Especialy when they blame it partly on not enough refineries but won't build any new ones.
ANd of course Wall Street isn't helping any.

I do too. But saying you're going to take a company's profits is NOT the way to handle this.
Hillary is a raging communist just waiting to f*ck over this country.

She will not be Pres. The shadow gov. will not allow it.
we need to drill here, build some more deals and open it up more so comp. drives the price down. Watch the numbers,, WTF Walmart takes it in the shorts this quarter? Watch for big Vacation deals, and lower prices on lux items. Noone spends money when gas is high.
they blame it partly on not enough refineries but won't build any new ones.Blame the lieberals and leaf lickers. It's all their fault.

I would like someone to define "excessive profits."
Oil companies have tried to build and expand existing refineries in this country and the "not in my backyard" crowd, along with massive regulations has stopped all new refineries. Lately, the companies have given up, why waste the time and money when the people won't allow it. Hell, a few years ago in TN, the people screamed about a new pipeline to disburse fuel.
As for their profits, they are extremely large, but let's define "large." If we start taxing companies for their profits, do we stop at the oil companies, or do we go after Toyota, Microsoft, etc., when they return large profits?

Good points F5, but the reality is Hillary was just blowing the usual gas out of her sorry ass without any thought to the recourse of her actions...

I agree, she is a fool, always will be. If she gets elected, this country is screwed.

I'm all about the free market when there is real competition, but with gas there really isn't competition since all of the buyouts and mergers.
What do you think about regulating gas prices? Guessing many of you would be against that, but why do they regulate natural gas and electricity rates and not gas/diesel? I spend a heck of a lot less on those each month than I do on gasoline and all three are pretty much (not completey) a necessity.

Basic services people in this country MUST have to survive and sustain life should be regulated. Just my opinion - phone, gas, elec

I think we talked about this before
but
when we elect a president, that person, whoever it might be needs to have EXPERIENCE in government, military, diplomacy, managing people & common sense.
WOOPS !!!!!!
that eliminates about 90% of the people (republican, democrat, independant) that are currently in the race...
