hahaha smarta$$ ;)
WEST Virginia. They are definately not like your mountains but for mid atlantic skiing its not bad. Elevation is 4,400 feet at top and 3,400 at base where house is. They actually average 160-180 inches of snow annually. Not bad for this area. Plus its 3 hrs door to door for me to get there from my home.:)

VERY COOL:beerchug:
Very nice layout and I love the DECK:)
That's not a bad drive. We've been considering a mountain place, but it's 5 hours to get out there from here. Might as well move to Denver and have a place in Moab.;)

Yeah. The guy added the gazeebo piece with hot tub just before we bought. That was kind of the last straw. Sitting there with snow falling drinking a cold one watching folks come down slopes is my idea of a good time:beerchug:

Shlt Ken, you only live once. My dad worked his ass off (taught in south east DC for 37 years) then finally bought his vacation place in myrtle. I was damned if i was going to wait that long. Figured with me and the wifes ages having our main residence in northern va along with these 2 places we are setting ourselves and son up for the future. plus we have 2 places we love to go to.
You only live once and you cant take it all (or any) with you ;)
I think Corova would be the place for us. It's far enough north that we could use a boat to shoot through Back Bay from Pungo and be there in no time. However, there's a GINORMOUS difference in price from the mountains to the beach.:(

Oh beach to mountains is like 3 to 1 cost wise for houses...EASY. Thats why we have a condo at the beach. Where we are at about 1/4 mile down the beach are homes. Lots....LOTS are 1.5-2.5M. Still if you enjoy going then its worth it. Plus now is a great time to buy as interest rates are still relatively low and there is a good supply of homes on the shore thus keeping price levels more in check. Back in 2001-2004 beach homes went nuts. Now a lot of those folks who bought with crazy finance deals are bailing and selling low or even at losses.
