View Full Version : How often do you get flashed?

....headlights, that is. :)

When I first got my H2 on 2003, it seems like there was a stronger bond between H2 owners. Like an elite club. About 90% of the other H2s I'd flash (headlights again) would flash back. Now, it's like 1 for 30. Are more H2 owners getting stuck up, or are they just too stupid to figure out how to flash their lights?

I still give a hand raise wave. But too many bovine-like people drive our beloved brand now.

On my side of town I get waved at, (for the most part). On Drty's side of town, I get the finger.

Today I saw a pewter H2 with almost all the same bling I have, including my wheels. I was so happy!:beerchug:

Unless i see an H3 exactly like mine i normally never get the wave. From the H1 owners i get it though. Probably becuase they realize i actually enjoy the Hummer for what it is, they probably notice that by how i look at their car

I wave at all the different models. We have so many driving around town now. I feel sort of like the big man on campus now with the H1... :D

I've gotten a lot of waves form H2's. Not so much with the 3's. I've gotten some waves from Jeepers too. :o

Nicely timed thread, I just got back from Edmonton and most of the owners up there waved or flashed the lights...here in Calgary it's the complete opposite...either they are blatantly stupid and have no idea as to how to wave or flash their lights or they are just so stuck up they decide to turn a blind eye to other owners...I don't get it?!?! If you look at motorcycle owners they all wave to each other no matter what type of motorcycle they ride, perhaps there is something to be learned there....

Damn, in Red Deer they practically climb out of their trucks while they are driving just to say hello! way to go to to all the Hummer owners in Red Deer Alberta!

I never get flashed, 'cause there are NO hummers around. Maybe 10 in total in my country...

If I were flashing/waving, I'd probably notice more.

Tim once yelled at me for not waving to another H2 while I was giving him a ride to the Hummer dealer in Colo Spgs. It's the last time I gave him a ride anywhere.

I thought you meant the lifting-up-their-blouses kind of flashing. That happens to me almost every day around here. :dancingbanana:

I'd say i get waves from about 60% of the H2's and about 30% of the H3's. Not too many H1's around here.

Like Mdimitri says bikes wave to each other and when I had my 82 vette, other vette's always waved. Not sure why its not universal with the hummers.

I always give a thumbs up or a wave, even though I'm not in a Hummer...

I wave :clapping: but seems like I usually initiate it first..seem like I catch them off guard. I see about 1 or 2 H2's a few more H3's in Delaware each day.

i've never had the honor of being given the bird yet. But i've only had my 07 H2 for 3 months.. you'd think after 9800 miles i'd see something...geez :giggling:

I haven't noticed getting the bird either, yet. However, people that follow me, tell me they see people flipping me off often.

I get waves from about 40% of H2s and almost never from H3s. H1s are even worse. Never a wave, and actually got flipped off by one old fart with a big fat stoggie in his mouth. Not sure if the Dallas H1 drivers are just azzholes or if I've just missed the guys worth giving the thumbs up.

I give thumbs up to anyone that looks like they go off road and almost always get a wave or thumbs up back.

As far as hooter flashes, only once by a car load full of latino babes... Made my day!!

I get alot of waves or pulling up beside to see who is driving. Of course when the young ladies see my bald head, they're disappointed but I smile. The Hummer looks neat anyway.

I flash my lights when I've just passed a cop who has radar going! Another time you will see flashing lights is when there is a bad crash and you are being warned to slow down.

I try to wave but I'd say it's about 30% that I get a wave back.

Yes, let's "SAVE THE WAVE"!

I wave when I pass an H1, H2 and H3. But dont get many responses. Sad...you would think they would see that we are all one big family but guess not.
Oh well, I will wave to my fellow Hummer brother and sisters even if they dont!

Here in Hummer meca, Utah - you'd think, but not a one regardless of the model. Even when I go to Moab for a little R & R I don't feel the love... Oh well, I like what I got and I'll still initiate the wave.

Save the light flash for cop warnings.....

In only about a 2 month period of ownership, twice in just the last couple days. Both were in Canada, eh! (while driving back from Maine to Michigan).
Most I've run into here in MI won't even look at you...

The drive to New England was awesome in the H2! Everytime I parked it in Bar Harbor, the visitors would stop to stare. Even had a group of old-timers track me down at a cafe to ask me questions about it!

Have a great summer!
