Do you have to have the ignition key to open the ends of the bar? Do you have to open the ends in order to install them? Thanks.....Jamie

Yes you do need the key(s) to open the ends up. But, every roof bar I have taken off has had the same core/key number. Check to see what core number you have...I may have an extra key or two or four.

the key blank is a VW gas cap key ,my code is E005 and my locksmith cut it in less than 10 min for 15.00 .he used blackhawk key code on line I think.
