Not that this is news to anyone here, but why does the JK and FJ, trucks, ect all have a much better aftermarket than the H3? The H3 has been around longer than the JK and even some long discontinued vehicles seem to have a lot more aftermarket than the H3. I see a lot of "bling" but not a lot of serious running gear upgrades. Maybe it's the less common IFS and diff's our rigs run or too many H3's become non-offroad bling buggies? I would like to beef up front diff and have gearing choices after the warranty is up. Hopefully the aftermarket starts to realize that the H3 is a serious wheeling machine and addresses the market..

Don't hold your breath....
I keep hoping to see some stuff like bumpers, air locker for the front or suspensions from ARB now that the H3 is being sold "down under".
The 2008 Alpha V8 H3 will have a cast iron front diff housing but that would be an expensive upgrade for us with the aluminum housing

ummm...don't confuse CJ & TJ aftermarket for the JK. It's not nearly as big as it seems. Yes, larger than the H3 aftermarket, and cheaper, but you can find aftermarket stuff for a Blazer, Bronco, Suburban, Cherokee, etc much easier than a JK. Trust me, I just bought one and have spent the last few days scouring the internet for upgrades - they aren't out there in the volume you think...

Except for the JK Rubicon, I think hummers need less work to make them trailworthy. But that doesn't explain the lack of bumpers, winch mounts, grill guards and other off-road armor. I also know there's a perception that Hummers are giant bling machines that don't actually go offroad. But mostly, I think Hummer has done a truly :lame: job marketing their off-road capabilities.
First there were the city-slicking kaleidoscopic H3 ads and that god-awful "little monster" superbowl ad ... then a couple of soccer-mom and veggie-dude envy ads ... then those stupid, "it's not magic" ads.
Meanwhile, the JK had that uber-cool insect collection series, and I can't open a 4x4 mag without opening to a full page, brown-paper spec on the FJ's superior capabilities.

Some good points there... GM should take a look at how "Land Rover" Market it's Off road heavy. I remember all the adds were geared mostly to the Off Road strentghts of the vehicle.
I think the General wanted to get the H3 launched to a large section of buyers ..so they went the Soccer mom route also I think to get there sales up. :D

btw, isn't the selection of aftermarket stuff for Land Rovers rather slim....

Range Rover Sport Supercharged is the flavor of the month around here in the high rent/high income districts. A fast/slick/on-road type SUV. Off road capability is just a bonus. But those very low profile 20" tires are not going far offroad.

There is quite a bit out there. As unit sales of H3 increase there will be much more. :D

Arb is going to be making many parts for the H3. The only thing being determined right now is what the differences are between the aus 2008 h3 and the us version. It looks like the 08 aus version is the same as the 07 us version, but they are trying to get some measuments to be sure. I would not expect anything right away, but I have heard they are planning to try to do as much for the h3 as they have done for the fj.

Well, it is official! I am a hummer convert now. I got a new 07 a week ago and could not be more happy with my decision. As far as aftermaket goodies from ARB, here is a pic of my new ride with an ARB roof rack installed. There is also a rear air locker that has been tested and works. A front bumper is in development as well as many other parts.
