View Full Version : My 2005 H2 SUT is RECOVERED!!!

Well to update everyone it has been a pretty good Father's Day, I got a call from the NJ police around midnight saying they recovered my H2.

It was at towing company and could be picked up. I called the towing company and they said it was in great shape.

I drove 4 hours up to NJ today and they released it to me and it started!!!

Only damage was they broke the passenger lock (key) on the handle to get in, also they removed the On-Star display from the dash.

So I guess if they do this On-Star can't locate your vehicle?

So I wanted to say thanks to everyone for there support and HUMMER ON!!!

So what does the insurance co do for you? They fix everything that is broke and thats it? Do they give you some for the abuse? If someone steals my car, I dont think I want it back? But I have never been there... So Im interested....

oh man thats great! Congradualtions!:beerchug: i'd rather have mine back then deal with an insurance company, its like your asking them for a kidney or something.

My sentiments exactly. I would not touch it without talking to the insurance company.

See now, I am disappointed in how good the police are at recovering vehicles. I only hope that if someone steals my POSH2 that they never find it again. The insurance company has got to be better than the LONG LIST of repairs/replacements I've got to get done soon.

Great to hear you got it back. What good is onstar anyway? I still have never used it. And, if its that simple to disable, I think they are just selling a false sense of security against theft. Does it work anywhere a cell phone dosen't?

good to hear it's not to badly molested ,I'm sure the insurance co won't be that bad. you pay the deductable and a few phone calls and you'll be good to go .:jump:

I"m pretty surprised, congrats!

Not being a very blingy person, I've got to say the metal, chrome door handle buckets seem to be a good way to stop that type of theft.

What great news.......After the major work, and I hope they looked for prints, have it completely checked for drugs with a police dog and then fumigate it. There is always bad stuff present. Had a sailor go thru the Naval Base gate and got a hit after his Van had been stolen. The "fisherman"

Well it goes in the shop today...

Looks like it just needs a new door handle and an On-Star unit for the dash.

I am leaning toward selling the Hummer soon after I get it back.
