You'll need to reprogram both remotes, so make sure both are with you.

Put the key in the ignition and don't turn the car on. While holding the unlock button down on the driver door, turn the key on and off twice (without turning the car on, turn it to the on position and then to the off position). You should hear the horn honk really quick and the door locks will cycle, this means the car is in program mode. Take the first key fob and hold down the lock AND unlock buttons. After between 6-20 seconds, the locks will cycle, that means it's accepted the programming. Repeat with second key fob. After the second key fob, turn the key on and off, you'll hear another honk, which means it's out of program mode.

Test remotes, and you're good to go.

This is only for the H2/Tahoe/Escalade, not the H3.

Do you know if this works on an 07 Avalanche as well?

I doubt it, but I'm not sure.

When I tried this technique, it didn't work for me, so I had to drive to the dealer, pay $50 and get it done. But then again...I'm not to "program savy":D

Hahaha...this is funny...well kinda weird is more like it...I have been using remote 2 for the past 2 weeks no issues...I get to the programming mode as per the instructions above...program the FREE FOB 1 from the dealer just now...and then I try FOB 2...nothing...it seems like I am still in programming mode because I didn't hear the locks cycle for the 2nd FOB and when I turned the key on and off the last time I didn't hear the single horn at the end...

when I repeat for the second FOB what step do I start with ? just holding the unlock and lock buttons on the FOB or turn the key on and off twice...or all the way from the beginning...I have tried a bucnh of steps several times...I think I may be skipping something or jumping a step...can someone help me... hit me up at jroman201@gmail.com or jorge.roman@fibermain.net if ya can...

Thanks for the replies !!!

How in the world did you figure that out?

I just bought a # 15252034 GM fob on ebay... Found these instructions for an 08-09 and it worked fine:

Relearn Remote Key
This display allows you to match Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitters to your vehicle. To match an RKE transmitter to your vehicle:

Press the vehicle information button until PRESS TO RELEARN REMOTE KEY displays.
Press the set/reset button until REMOTE KEY LEARNING ACTIVE is displayed.
Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the first transmitter at the same time for about 15 seconds.
On vehicles with memory recall seats, the first transmitter learned will match driver 1 and the second will match driver 2.

A chime will sound indicating that the transmitter is matched.

To match additional transmitters at this time, repeat Step 3.
Each vehicle can have a maximum of eight transmitters matched to it.

To exit the programming mode, you must cycle the key to LOCK/OFF.
