Got a quote today on the Viper SST5900 (1 mile Version) With installation.
This is a local Viper Dealer listed on Viper's web page. I spoke with him and he seemed like there verey experienced Viper install compnay. They have done H3's before.
The Price installed was $550.00.. Does that sound about right? I've seen the 5900 from $225-to-$300 just for the unit. He said it's about a 4-6 hour install.
Anything I need to add to the unit that might be extra?
I screwed up and posted this in General forum.. So I moved it here.
Opinions...???

the only sensor the 5900 sst comes with is a shock sensor. many are comfortable with that, but i also had a sound sensor installed to protect against window breakage in teh rear incase the shock didnt pick it up.
550 sounds pretty good compared to mine. i paid about 750 but that included the sound sensor and the install for it, and also one of those scanner lights installed up front.
make sure to test that the starter is being disabled by the alarm if its not disarmed. at first delivery my installer had it hooked up somehow so that you could start the engine with the siren screaming, when i told him about it he fixed it up in an hour or so, had a bit of a tough time. also check proper instalation of the hood pin switch. this alarm is a somewhat time consuming install cauze theres alot of things to hook up, but if hes done an h3 before he be ok, i was the first for my installer. he broke a plastic trim piece and cut my gps antenna cable, but was real nice and ordered both of them for me.
test that all the features work for ya.

Thanks ,
I plan on visting the shop and looking around before I commit to the install. I'll see how clean his shop is and spend a little more time to make sure he's cool before I let him rip open my 3.
I did mention to him that I am concerened about damaging any panels he has to pop off, or for that matter damge to the interior. He assured me that they are fully insured and I'm covered.
There is also a certification called "MECP"..Mobile Elecctronics Certified Professional". I think he is a member.
