I've got an intermittent clunk in the right side, seems to be under the passenger side floor. It doesnt happen all the time and might go a week without hearing it.

When it does happen, this is when it does. From complete stop when I accelerate and the nose comes up it will clunk. It will also happen when breaking and coming to a complete stop just before stopping it will clunk.

Leads me to believe it is either suspension or body related and not drivetrain related.

Had it to the dealer and of course it didnt make the noise when they drove it.

Any suggestions or ideas of what it might be?

Thanks all

Mike

check rear trailing arms, they'll hit and sound travels up frame rail

Also check skid plate bolts

Thanks for the tips...are you referring to the front skid plate? I'll check that today.

The truck only has about 14K miles on it, what do i check on the rear trailing arms?

Check for tight bolts on all parts listed and check also bushings on trailing arms

ok i know this sounds stupid... but, this happened to me a few weeks ago:

when i would accelerate i hear a CLUNK... it was going on for the entire trip to work until i got to caribou for some coffee.. i realized the rear spare tire mount wasn't locked into the latch all the way and was swinging open a few inches but was being caught by that saftey wire.

:twak: to myself!!!!!

I must admit I did the same thing. It almost felt like fuel was sloshing around in a half empty tank, but it had never done that before. Took me about a day to figure it out.

I'll have to either crawl under there or have the dealer do it since its under warranty.

I'll have them check the body mounts and the trailing arms. I assume the body mounts just needed torqued down?

I checked the rear tire carrier and it was closed. That was the first thing I check since I did have it not fully latched once....lol.
