I have a 2005 h2 sut and I am trying to remedy the brake squeel. My first attempt was I purchased hawk heavy duty pads, that didnt fix the problem. Now I purchased brembo sport rotors and am wondering what you experts would recommend for pads so I get no brake noise. I dont care about brake dust, I just want a quiet pad due to I use the rig for hunting and that noise can be a pain in the ass. Thanks for your help.

even brand new rotors must bet cut/surfaced to ensure they are straight,I have found the factory pads or ceramic pads are the way to go for a nice quiet brake system and you should do all 4 /front and rear at the same time .so grab a can of Brakekleen and have a party .:p

mine squeel a bit too, but i don't worry about it :)
i always figured rotors out of the box are already straight.. i know, as soon as mine start pulsing when i hit that brake pedal, i'll be changin them!

thanks for the responses. The squeel didnt started till about a year later. So about 1 year ago I put on the hawk pads and still have them, so this time I will replace with the brembo rotors I got on sale when that store had that great sale. I was just curious what you guys recommend for what type pad I should go with. thanks again

CERAMIC
Are you fawking nuts? Ceramics make a ton of noise and really don't work well until heated up a bit. I'd never put ceramics on a heavy rig.
rrboy, you should have taken the rig in to Vic Alfonso and had the techs look at it. The factory pads will last you well over 88K - mine have 88K on them and are well over 1/2 pad left.

No I'm not fuc*ing nuts ,but my ex wife said I was a "CRAZY MOTHER FUC*ER )IF THAT COUNTS .The ceramic pads on our 2003 avalanch,2005 Ford F150,2005 Chevy 2500 hd Duramax/Alli ext cab,and my extensively modifyed 73 Vett ain't makeing any noise yet ,and Chevy puts them on the Avalanch from the factory .first set lasted 61000 miles and towed a 23 ft Cobalt boat about twice a month. oh and I put them on my 2003 H2 and they only have 6200 miles on them but they are still quiet . maybe they suck in the cold climete's ,but when I go hunting in northen AZ and Colorado I had no problem ,and it get's pleanty cold up there in the winter .maybe I heat them up pretty good towing that 10000 lb toy hauler with 3 atv's in it and just don't notice it .(useing the 2005 Chevy 2500hd). if you drive with 2 feet and ride the brakes nothing helps . my brother who drives like an @sshole in his 2005 Ford F150 super crew Lariat repaced the factory Ford metalic pads with Ceramic at 20000 miles because the factory pads were driveing him crazy .the Ceramic pads now have 30000 miles on them and are nice and quiet . by the way what you hunting ? bet there still pleanty of Moose up there, that is one hell of a tasty criter. try this ,cut all 4 rotors, wash them with diswashing detergent ,rince and dry them get a set (front and back) of Raybestos Quiet Stop Ceramic pads and install them ,make sure your calipers are not sticking and causeing this problem to begin with . I have heard of Brembo ,but never used them maybe they are not compatible with the pads you are useing.

I am also having a strange noise in my car right now. I'm not sure if that sound really came from my brake pads. The sound is not like a squeal. it's more of an cranking sound.
