What do you all think about boulder racks? Any one have one?
The reason I ask is that I was trying to get my dealer to add a Gobi rack so I could incorporate it into my loan payment and get it right away instead of trying to save the money and then never end up putting it on and bitching about it when I wanted to carry more sh*t.
He says they can get it for $1400 and it will carry a 4year/50,000 mile warranty as long as it is put on prior to the sale!

I am ordering soon, dealer says eight weeks for delivery on all ordered vehicles... :crying: I am hoping it is sooner, the rack is probably the last goody I am trying to put into the deal and I can?t find specifics about them, but it looks pretty good, and will serve the purpose.

Is that a Gobi or a Boulder rack? Or are they the same? The price seems like a good deal for the size of it. I looked at a Real Wheels Rack that was much smaller for $1000, and that price seems to be on the low end for roof racks. I have the same concern about the sunroof. Looks like that one does not allow for it. The only thing I don't like about it styling-wise is the wavey bar that runs around it. I don't think that would keep me from getting it though.

I will encourage all to contribute to the RHYD collection for lack of a rack, or the "RHYDCLACK"

That's what I am trying to find out, specs on the whole thing guess it's time to call them and find out from the source.

The pic is the Boulder rack, and yes the wavy support reminds me of the storage racks you can buy for the shop/garage!
I like the warrantee especially up here in the rust zone.

I figure if your going to spend $1000 + on a rack you might as well go for the gobi rack .Then you could add the ladder for a few hundred more.(I seen free ladder deals from time to time also):D

Trail duty has the "combo" deals on the Gobi $1600 for both rack and ladder...Makes me want one. I do like the look of the Gobi and all of you that have them praise the hell out of them. Isn't it nice to have such dilemmas as trying to decide on what rack to buy, you gotta love living here!

GOBI has the sunroof opening. You may want to send DEMO a PM. Since he took all of his stuff off his H3 before his trade on an H2, he may be looking to sell his cheaper than buying new.

Looks like it does or at least be shifted more to the back to allow room as it's not a full size rack:

Yes, I did get more info from boulder and it does cross over part of the sun roof and does not run the full length of the vehicle. I can't seem to get the pic from the pdf into this space so I can't show you... but it makes the Gobi much more appealing!

What's wrong with it creeping a bit over the sunroof?

It impedes your escape route when you get stuck in a river crossing. :D

I don't plan on crossing any rivers of that nature in the near future! :D
