Just tested the Tule kayak "j hook" carrier the other day. It works well, holds the kayaks in place snugly and can be mounted to oem roof rails. I did have to find longer bolts for the mounts, it came with only 65 mm carriage bolts.

There is plenty of room for two kayaks and they are easy to get down by yourself. They are sold in sets of two and come with the tie down straps.
