Hello all,

driving home from work yesterday and my power (well the little i got) kinda went away and the sound of a loud fan noise was present, thought maybe because it was so hot and AC was working hard, but i come to work this morning and same thing. is this something i should get looked at? i mean when i step on the gas, loud fan slim to no acceleration then nothing, im really close to dealer and it would be free to look at, should i go?  thanks in advance for any help

Go to the dealer. Then sign up for a course in communication skills...

To have it "Looked at" will probably take a day in the shop.

Did you try opening the hood and sticking your head in there and trying hear where its coming from? Have someone step on the gas and see if its a fan, or a belt or something. If no sound in park you'll know its drivetrain. Remember that sticker on the front drive shaft another forum local found to be hitting the cross member or skid plate and making racket upon acceleration? Worth a check. :beerchug:

the noise is kinda normal on an cold start initially. can occur at other times too. it shouds like rushing (fast) air moving through a restrictive opening.

however teh loss of power that comes with that doesnt sound liek its normal.

and whats the update?

The power loss is normal, when the clutch comes on now the fan is pulling A lot more air which tries to slow down the motor. Just like turning on the ac will pull the motor down A little. This is why electric fans are used in performace applications so there is no horsepower being robbed by spinning A fan
