It's a Hummer.
Is it just me or does anyone else hear this spoken in their head like Pedro from Napolean Dynamite when he says, "It's a Sledgehammer."

those dolts from car and driver really tick me off. Whats up with the comment about the civilized world not needing the H2.
I am sure some of the cars they swoon over get a heck of a lot less MPG that the H2 does.
Makes me want to scream. We're in america, america is about choices, the land of opportunity. And if I make enough money to afford a H2 then I want to be able to buy an H2. Me driving my H2 isnt going to melt the polar ice caps or kill the spotted owls.
Dont get me started.....

Heck, I thought that article rocked! See, look at it this way...H2 owners aren't self-absorbed a$$holes who don't care about gas or the environment. We're just well prepared!

OK, who says we hummer owners drive only the hummer? That's a false assumption that is the very basis of a false argument.
In my case, I'll probably drive my H2 a maximum of 5,000 miles a year, how many others actually use their hummers very little. My guess is a fair percentage. If you can afford a Hummer, you probably can afford another car (or two, or three) which you probably drive far more.
So by purchasing my Hummer I pulled a gas guzzling SUV off the market. It sits in the garage. For about three months at a time it is truely a zero-emmisions vehicle. So the neighbor with the Honda SUV drives 20,000-25,000 miles a year. he uses about 1,000 to 1,250 gallons of gas. My H2 at, lets say 10 MPG, uses 500 gallons. So who is the real polluter?
Second, my ability to purchase a SUV (I own two) keeps blue collar families who build cars under a roof with a steady income, so again what have I done wrong?
Lastly, as a conscious owner who is meticulious about the care of my vehicles, I always keep the vehicles in a peak state of tune. I'll bet those Hondas and Hundais never see a tune, that is until something fails. So, it is a lot more likely the econo boxes running around are polluting far more than I ever will.
Having said that, let's nuke the whales and stuff spotted owls!
