I was really surprized when I saw this video. That looked like a typical off road sitation. Does anyone know maybe what went wrong or what broke (assuming something did in fact break)? Also, is the under portion of the H2 able to withstand a fall that big?
I dont know. Maybe the driver should have known not to drive over that. And they clearly were giving it too much gas... but still. That looks like a situation the H2 should be able to handle just fine. Im really dssapointed.

The tie rods om h2's go a good bit, this is ussually due to driver error...the truck can deffinantly handle those rocks, he just approached it wrong.

GREAT FIND! This must be a new video! Man, I can't believe that guy took a truck that expensive off road... esp. when his off road abilities were not there. I wonder if this video will make it's rounds all over the world claiming the reputations of ALL H2 vehicles and their drivers. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif
I guess he should have been driving an H1. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif

Yeah, i hope that some day they can make an H2 that will go where the H1's do. The H2's are just so unreliable VS the H1's. Esp. when comparing them on the Golden Spike trail in Moab.

Golden Spike trail? Im new to all this hummer stuff... so could you explain what thats like? Or maybe even post pics / vids?! :0
And whats unreliable about the H2?.... other then it's tie-rod of course ;D

Im not freaking trolling. I made this same topic on another site yesterday moo. (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=489900)
Im just curious god. I thought it was unusual how such a big bad SUV that can "go anywhere" was so easily damaged by a rock.

SImple terms- the passenger side tire slipped on it's inner sidewall- and the angle at which it ended up was too harsh and awkward for the tie-rod which was supporting the weight of the front end. A couple of inches over and the slip wouldn't of happened, the front passenger tire is invisible to the driver. The driver is actually one of the best and I have seen him wheel. This was just a weird happenstance. Part of wheeling.
Fredrick, you just reminded me to go on a college forum to ask about this video I saw on Badboys/Break.com. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

I dont have a video of it but the other day I saw a Jeep and the drive shaft u-joint broke dropping the shaft on the ground. The jeep was on pavement, but it occurred just after going over a speed bump. Is this normal for Jeeps? It did not seem to be that big a speed bump and was certainly within the jeep's capabilty. I was very disappointed. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

What the god damn... What is wrong with you people? Im not freaking trolling.
Anyone who isnt who isnt obsessed with the H2 (in a good or bad way) wouldnt have ever seen that video. How was I to know how old the video was? I just wanted to see some footage of the H2. http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=Hummer *Gasp* Hey look what video is on the first page.
Like I said, I was disappointed. I love the H2 almost as much as I love GM, so it was disturbing to see a video which really does make the H2 look like a POS. So... I asked people if this was something that was typical of a H2, and they said yes. And even then I didnt want to belive it, so I searched for a hummer forum so I could get a less biased answer (seeing as 99.9% of everyone on earth hates Hummer).
But no. You all just said I was trolling, and really didnt answer my question well at all. Way to go guys on supporting the stereotype that Hummer owners are ass holes.

If you did one simple search on "tie rod" you find all the information you ever wanted.
Yeah, all hummer owners are @ssholes because they think you might should do a search on an internet forum before asking an obvious question.
