Just sitting in the office watching the market slip away. Wondering where things will go from here. Just wanted to see what everyone else's opinions were.

FWIW, the markets were UP for the week.

Carl Ichan moved into the market this week to take advantage of some depressed properties, so look for an upswing.

In the dumper till 08 elections. It is rigged and I want to burn my 401 and buy Gold, and Amo. Amo is huge, they can't keep up with demand.

This game was played in the mid 80's and here it comes again. unreal that people have no memory of the mortage scam and var. rate scham back then.

Dennis, i don't agree with you often:dancingbanana: but in this case taking possession of gold or silver bullion is an excellent idea.

Gold in 1 and 10 troy ounce bars and silver in 100 ounce bars...

as of 2:20 this afternoon spot gold is down 3.12% and spot silver is down 0.02%

Someone get Winthorp in here and tell him to SELL SELL SELL!!! :crying: :D

Real Estate prediction for 2008

2008 brings most of Balloon Mortgages out there coming due
Lenders still in buisness are deep cutting mortgage products
Less loan programs = less buying and refinancing
Underwriting guidelines are tightened
Consumers are maxed-out and unable to repay and can't refinance
No more “Officer and a Gentleman" loans
Home values drop
No more equity to support spending habits

Fewer potential buyers

Increasing inventory
Increasing foreclosures
15%+ Home Value drop in 2008

HOWEVER There is still massive opportunity here if you time the Real Estate market correctly :excited:

Here is the answer:
Buy low Sell high!! :dancingbanana: :beerchug: :jump:

Some may disagree, but New Orleans is a buyers market right now. Literally dirt cheap in the flood affected areas like the lower Cs. It'll recover with improved restructuring and property value will return. Rental properties is the way to go.

Elcova is the cheapest form of entertainment and recreation.

Wheeling a Hummer is expensive so if you really want to cut down.......

But I doubt that's gonna happen.:D

I am planning on cutting back and trading the 3 in on a H4 or Used H2. Values so low now on H2's they can't give them away on the used lots.

What the hell are you talking about?

With the introduction of the Alpha H3, I could walk into my dealership and trade in my 03 H2 for two 05 H3s.:beerchug::OWNED:

Their used lot is filling up with them 5 cylinder H3 CARS.:clapping:

I love this statement from their sales dept.:giggling:
Guys who bought the H3 who couldn't afford the H2 are trading them back in pissed off that it isn't as nice and capable as the H2. They felt ripped off. What's even sadder is, now with the true H3 Alpha coming in, the 5 cylinder H3 is plummeting in value literally overnight. We don't want them.

What you should be doing is trading it in or selling it now before the H3 Alpha really floods the market.

My sister had this 4 cylinder pampered Camry that lost almost half it's value overnight when the 6 cylinder Camrys showed up on the lot.

Another big peeve is buying a vehicle without leather. For some reason not having leather is another excuse for knocking the value down on trade in.

""Well you could have gotten more if it you had one with the leather package.":twak:

2 (4) Family Homes
1 (2) Family Home
1 (1) Family Home

I've had my squints and fingers in N.O. for awhile now.

Another "Best Bet" down there is FEMA Trailers being auctioned off by the government. In some cases (Not all) they're liquidated as low as 95%(Median is 40%) off their sellable value in OTHER STATES or Canada.

I've flipped 4 of them so far and the beauty of it is, I never see them, I'll work it 5-10 minutes on the computer on weekends.

A word of caution: It sounds simple but some people blow it and lose big time if they don't have basic commodities experience skeelz. So cross your T's and dot your I's.

Except B.C. But I think an experience guy like you knows property here is getting ridiculously out of hand.

I bought our house at $550K 5 years ago. We got our property government assessed at $1.1 million this year. The property tax is killing alot of people here. One of our neighbors sold for $1.3M (Because they couldn't stand my Hummer staring at them every morning.:D) and bought a 100 acre lot 600 miles into the sticks.

The Canadian $ is expected to par up with the US $ by years end. But that's a bad thing for us.

It's wild on the Westcoast. Oregon, Washington and B.C.

Did I say 2005 H3? OOOOPS! My bad. But that just shows how much I paid attention to the H3s.

And ya, I actually paid for my H2 in full on November of 2002. Delivered April 2003.:)

Alpha will not be a limited production. Trust me on that.;)

If AM General made them, sure. But this is GM we're talking about. It's all about money. And GM will be raking in $$$ with the H3 Alpha.

Nice to see a Canuck profiting off the remnants of a US natural disaster. However it does appear there is a conflict of interest. You profit off hurricane damage in the above mentioned way but also hope to profit off preventing hurricane damage with Hurricane Tape! You seem to have the hurricane market cornered... what's next? Is it any coincidence that you drive a vehicle that supposedly contributes to a global event that supposedly causes more hurricanes to develop? I'm on to you...
