View Full Version : Stolen Tow Hooks

I rented an H3 in Vegas drove over to Lake Powell. While out on the houseboat someone stole ALL THREE tow hooks off the H3. Anyone heard of this going on?

I had the full coverage insurance. They were so wrapped up in the cracked windshield(Took a rock east of Zion) they didn't notice the hooks were missing when I turned it in.

Didn't know there was a market for stolen H3 tow hooks...

Some people will steal anything...

Were they at least the chrome tow hooks?

I've heard of the spare tires being stolen, but not the tow hooks.

Really. BTW, recently, my H3 had a quite a few things ripped off. I hope they catch the guys. I'm missing the following:

5 - 315/75/16 Cooper STT, TMax 10K EWI, Wilderness Roof Rack, Hi-lift Jack on rack, Ax & Shovel on rack, Husky Mud Flaps, Front Light Bar w/ 4 PIAA 2100, 2 PIAA 2100 Fogs, LED Rear Roof Marker Lights, Vent Shades, Neo Seat Covers Yellow/Black Front and Back, Tailight Guards, Brush Guard, Rocky Road Rock Rails, OEM UCP, Hunner Rear Skids, Rear Storage Drawers, Trail Rack, CB, GPS, On-Board Air, 1250W Inverter

Maybe someone was looking to swap theirs out for chrome and didn't want to get ripped off by their dealer...

They were not chrome..just the plain jane black ones!

:popcorn: I guess they come off easy enough,unless you have a 06 early build then they got the bolt behind holding them in .and would be difficult to get them off quick.

That sucks. Check on Ebay and see if you can locate the suspects:excited:

They wern't stolen! All the "Rented" H3 have no tow hooks! :D

doesnt the spare tire have a lock nut? like i can swear i have a lock for the tire, and roofrail. maybe im wrong. But the rails came with a key i think, but i havent thought of that for almost a year. (my 3 is almost 1..in october) 5150miles, and going strong

Mine doesn't have a lock. I believe I've read that the '06 did have a lock though.
My buddies dad used to work for GM and his friends that still work there told him that someone were stealing the spare tires right out of the GM lot.

It had the hooks on it when I left Vegas...I have rented more than three other H3's in the last two years and they all had the tow hooks on them.

Who did you rent the H3 from? I recently had a rental piece of junk from National. I would have liked to had an H3, so I would have felt at home.

I do own my own H3... Just look for all my post on the number of cylinder heads I have replaced... I happend to get one while I was in Vegas as a rental...I rented from Advantage.
