Today my truck just starts spraying windshield wiper fluid until it was dry. So I had to pull the fuse. Anybody have any clue on how to fix this, except for pulling the fuse.
Thanks in advance.

check the switch on the stalk ,probably stuck . two years ago me and my than part time tec in training took the hose of the Paint and body mans Bronco and rerouted it to the dash so when you hit the washer it would shoot water in his face ,took him a week to use it and when he did he got a rude surprise . :giggling:

The switch is enclosed and doesn't seem to be stuck I have no Fvcking clue whats wrong with this damn thing now. I think my next truck is going to be Military Humvee. I'm sick of all this GM electronic gagetry in these vehicles now a days too much sh*t to go wrong.

never seen one go bad B4 the way yours did ,shoot som eletrical parts cleaner in it and work it while you spray it . unless the insulation on the wires has worn through and shorted ,it is most likely the switch . and GM used to have a problem that they denighed in the 90's with windshield wipers not working at all some times but never the washers .

Pull the battery terminals for a bit and see if the computer re-sets itself?

Sounds like a past recall item.
I have a 2003 H2 and the same thing,
washer sprayed out all the fluid, had to pull that fuse
wipers went ape and randomly came on, had to pull that fuse
Contacted dealership just as I received a recall letter. Great Timing for all.
Anyway, dealership fixed it all N/C - known problem for many GM trucks.

THAT'S WHY THIS BOARD ROCKS ,you get info fast and friendly . can an old timer use Rocks ? when it drys out the wipers should stop ,pull the fuse and reinstall it in a couple hours .

Does a 2004 H2 Qualify for this or only 2003?
Thanks

Hucky,
Yes I have Pantera (72) and it used to be seen all over the South Bay and Orange County at assorted events, including Donut Derrelicts events, but......with a seriously tired engine from too many track events, it's now leaking oil, burning oil, etc........ Rebuild is simple, having been planning a complete tear down that would then include a monster replacement engine (aluminum) and have been waiting for World Products to complete their new casting of the 351C.
Okay, back on the H2 and the windshield wipers gone wild.
I found the recall details for this issue:
The recal was for many models of GM trucks, including the 2003 H2
ID# 02V283000 - Visibility: Windshield Wiper/Washer Motor
Manufacturing dates: 10/04/2002 - 10/16/2002
GM Campaign # - 02051/03C03
Units affected: 1448 (Guess I was a luck 1)
Source: NHTSA
There were many other recalls on the H2's that were not sent out to the buyers, but searched when your brought it in for service.....

I find that ironic since you typed "Are you a fan of run-on sentence?" instead of "Are you a fan of run-on sentences?"
Or...
"Are you a fan of a run-on sentence?"
And yes.... I AM your teacher....

I had the problem with a silverado truck...it was doing the same thing, wipers would go on without turning them on, etc...like the truck was possessed. The dealer narrowed it down to either the switch on the stalk or the wiper motor/module....was about a $1000 repair....I traded the truck in the day they told me what they thought the issue was....lol

Looks like I'm SOL till I get to the dealership. Are TSB's covered repairs? Anybody else have any ideas before I take this thing in.

Yep, I've got the same exact problem on my 03. Started a couple of months ago and simply have yet to take it in. They wanted around $300 to replace motor/housing as it only comes in a complete kit. I am very interested if TSB's warrant the dealership to take care of it on their end. Someone please advise!!!!

its the wiper motor ,happened to my 03.started after a heavy rain storm,im guessing it got wet.squirted fluid out the the rear window wiper
also.i actually had the motor replaced twice ,second time the wipers would stop halfway up the windshield and stay there.both were covered under warranty.

Well the prob is I am out of warranty and I think I-Man is as well.......that is why we are hoping TSB's pay for the problem.......again, can anyone confirm????

I just posted my resolution to this matter under my initial posting of this same type of situation. There's some precedent there with HUMMER so this is probably a good time to contact them directly.

im having the same problem. Motor will not shut off so i pulled the relay. Then the next day my wipers started to go on by themselves. Once again I puled another fuze. Now I took it to the service dealer and he told me that there was no recall on wiper motor but alot of the people here say otherwise? What and I going to do, dont want to get stuck with a $800.00 bill.

I have the same problem on my back window wiper.... however, it only sprays when i put the truck in 4 wheel low. As soon as I put it in low, the squirter and wiper goes nuts.

I have not visited the forum for awhile but my rear wipers have mysteriously started several times. I thought it might be the sub zero weather but because of this thread, now I'm sure it was the defroster melting the snow and the water probably leaked into the housing. I'll try resealing the housing and see what happens. Thanks.

just had the same problem. i pulled the relay to stop the motor from burning out then the next day the wipers came on by themselves. i took it to the hummer service and they said it was the circuit board. it cost me $120.00 for the part and 2 hours for labor $200.00 total $320.00
