Just wondering if you had to cut the mini grill in order for it to fit. And the mounting holes don't line up, what to do? Thanks....Jamie

also, I have an 06 H2, would earlier year applications have the same hole pattern so as to mount, or is it possible that I have one not meant for this truck. Thanks...Jamie

Do you have one top bar or 2? They mount a little differently.

After looking at it again, it looks as if you have to drill into the existing front plastic bumper (thats all I can tell from pics, and really all I have to go on) If this is the case FAWK IT!

Nevermind...found out this thing is not for an H2 and is suppose to mount in the existing holes on the front behind the mini-grill. Sending this thing back.

Sorry. I forgot that they changed. I was referring to the older style. The single vs. double top-tube styles mounted a little differently. Glad you figured it out.:beerchug:

The place I got it from says it is def for an H2, if anyone has one, could you please post up how it mounts just to verify my findings? I tried to find contact info for SMA...but they have been outta business for 2 years now:crying:

I will PM you with a answer I sent another H2'r. I have the SMA brushguard but with the SMA valence & PIAA 520. If you can find the SMA Valence it would make installation a lot easier. I installed it myself since nobody wanted to do the job.

Here is one of the issues with this thing:

TOP HOLE

BOTTOM HOLE

NOTICE THE OVERLAP OF THE BRACKET OVER THE CHROME GRILL

THE BRACKET IS TOO BIG AND THE HOLES DON"T LINE UP AT ALL

I remember that either the lower valance or guard was different depending if which combo of SMA parts you had = You may have the guard for the SMA valance

If that was the case, I wish the place I bought it from would have let me know in advance.

I could have that backwards, so please double check it. I don't have that guard, so I didn't know who it suppose to install.

How would I know if it required the valance or not? Is there something in particular that I need to look for. Thanks for the help man....Jamie:beerchug:
