She is going to get on a bus all by herself!
Anyone else's children starting school today or did they start last week?

Mine 2 kids started August 21st. My little guy started kindergarten this year too though.....so the nest is empty most of the day now. :( That first week was dreadful. :crying: It seems to be getting better though.
Shopping is MUCH easier now!!! :D
It's weird though. The house is SO quiet. I'm thinking about getting a puppy to keep me company.

Mine started today. He was pretty darn excited about it. The wife drops him off. I think taking the bus would be more difficult to handle.

OK,
Being serious...
When I was teaching it was inportant for parent of younger children to prepare their child for nursury school and kindergarden.
This should start 1 to 2 years BEFORE the child is set to enter. The child should be socialized, making sure they can interact with other children their age for periods of a few hours or more. Play Groups are a great start. If possible in the last year before schooling Play Groups should meet for a minimum of 3 hours, 3 times a week.
The parents should talk to the child in the 6 month period before of the great time he or she will have, of the friends they will make, of the things they will learn. This will pre-enforce the new experience to come.
Next, which is equally important is for you the parent to believe in what you are telling your child. The month leading up to and the first weeks after are most important. The child MUST see you in a positive light...
The little mongrel is super excited. She's running around in her dress thinking she's Ariel or something. :)
And CP, calm down, you've got one burning in the oven.:shhh: :clapping:

Dennis,
Would you know why Birthday Wishes for BEBE keep getting erased, cancelled and altered ???
Since her Birthday was yesterday...
It was her birthday yesterday? So that's what all the hubbub was about. I was away in Washington all week so I missed out on all the fun. Are you sure you clicked the submit button?:jump:
Oh well, c'est la vie. Happy belated.

I remeber when I was a kid, the happiest day in my Dad's life was when I got through an entire day of kindergarten without beating up the teacher, beating up the nurse, beating up the vice-principle or jumping out the window and running home. (I know, it explains so much.) Anyway, I hope you all have better fortune than my parents did. Be vewwy, vewwy stwong and bwave. ;)

She's home and did well. Only cried when she first got to school. That's better than her mom did.:shhh:

No, I just didn't want to post her little baby doll face on the internets.;):D
She was fine at the bus stop, she said she cried when she got there because she couldn't find her room and was too shy to ask.:(
The carefree only goes when she doesn't have to write or.... see very well.:D:D The locks always fall in her face. I could have done it halfway up I guess, I dunno, I was nervous.....:(:giggling:

My oldest started kindergarten 2 weeks ago. He's been fine. The wife was a wreck dropping him off... :) He came home yesterday and walked up to me saying "chocolate" in spanish. I wanted to tell him he was asian and to stop humiliating himself, but luckily I restrained myself. :)
Anyone else's children starting school today or did they start last week?My Baby Girl started too.:( She gave me her Care Bear so I wouldn't be lonely...:crying: Then I followed the bus to school to make sure she got there okay. She told me there was NO WAY she wasn't riding the dang bus home either, so I shouldn't even think about it.
:grouphug: :grouphug:
When I get really down and out, I go intimidate the little principle, don'tcallme "Pat". :D :D It makes me feel better.
