Trouble with Rockstar wheels!

I recently purchased a set of Rockstar wheels and they really don't seem to be worth the money. I initially had problems with them (defects) and had to have them sent back and replaced. I finally got the new set in and now 1 of the "new" ones has a bend in the lip. It also seems like everyone of the center caps has scratches all over the PLASTC star symbol!:rant: Seems with the price of these wheels, they could have made a better center cap (possibly non-plastic) and one that actually fit down onto the wheel instead of "hovering" 2 inches above it. WTF was the purpose in that! Anyway, I like the straight on look of the wheel, however they don't look like they would be able to hold up long. If you are considering these, I'd say rethink it. If there are others who have these wheels, let me know what you think of the set-up. Thanks for the space to RANT!.....Jamie:mad:

At the top of the forum you will see User CP FAQ Members List Calendar New Posts Search just click on Search and type in such things as rockstars
or the guys name etc... it will give you lists, if your not satisfied, type in more info.

I looked at a set of 5 today and they were perfect. My tires will be in on Friday, so I'll have them on as well.

As for the center caps, you can mod them so they fit down closer to the rim. I've seen this done and will do the same if I end up keeping the caps on.

I have them wrapped in Toyo Open Country MT's (35's) I haven't had time with work and all to take any pics yet, I'll get some up shortly though. i have had them for awhile and i love them.. ! no problems at all.. i think maybe yours may have gotten banged up in shipping. i would get them to send you a new set. good luck i think they are a great looking wheel .

It's "suppose to be" a good company. They are in the orginal box and don't seem to be seconds. Any other way to tell? Thanks....Jamie

You haven't mounted them yet, right? What about returning them for your money back if you are that dissatisfied?

Taped (doesn't look like it was ever taped before) and each had 2 band straps around. The inside center caps were in a sealed bubble wrap.

Can you tell if the box lids had been glued down before?

I agree, I have heard nothing but good things about the xd series. what a bummer if they do not hold up, I have wanted some rockstars ever since they came out. I am getting black. Aren't they suppossed to be teflon coated or something. Seems they would be pretty tough.

I got 4 of my 5 today.:fdance: I hope the 5th rim comed in on Monday. I took those center caps and cut the posts down. placed them on and still didn;t like them.

they do sit way closer and do look a little better though. You have to buy shorter screws. Make sure you get stainless. no rust tat way.

I ended up painting my hubs in a semi gloss and used spline lug nuts. DONE!

Those center caps just look wayyyyy too plastic like IMO.

Did any of your wheels come all fawked up? Like the center cap star being all scratched? I have recieved all 5, 1 bent, 1 scratched, 1 center cap star broke, and 3 center caps scratched. Took the rear tire carrier off this AM, so now the 5th wheel will either be mounted on top, or in the garage. They are sending 2 more rims to replace these, but they are on back-order everywhere it seems, so gonna be 2 weeks.:rant: Anyway, I suggested they write fragile on these, b/c if they are screwed up too, then we'll just repeat til they get it right!

Everything was good with a couple exceptions:

1: THe guys that mounted the tires on the rims scraped one fo them up.
Had to touch up around the hub a little. No big deal.
2: One of the center cap stars was scraped.
I will get them to get me a new one in case I do use them at some time.

The biggest thing I noticed:

The tires/ rims way more than the 37's on stock rims. They are almost as large as the 37's. They ride quiet at 40psi.

They are definitely easy to scratch......but sounds like most people don't have a problem. Most likely the person selling them to you is the one selling questionable product.
