Do the Hummer dealers cover the state inspection cost as part of purchasing the truck from their dealership...if so is it for the life of the truck...

Nope.. If the truck is within a few months of expiring and you are ready to purchase, have them re-inspect it and get a new sticker for the month you are buying.

If you have already purchased and are coming close to an inspection... welcome to the club and be ready to pay. Also, if you have the off-road light package, have your caps with you or they will fail you. fyi..

Well I just went for inspection, and it is free for life. At Scott Hummer in Pennsylvania,if you purchase the truck there, for as long as you own the truck ,the state inspection is free...just have to pay for emissions and since I'm exempt(under 5000 miles a year) it cost me a total of 10.60...so I'm good for another year...over 5000 miles its 24.00...

So, it's an individual dealer thing, not a Hummer or GM thing. That's cool that your dealership does that. It's worth it to them to keep you coming to the dealership for all your maintenance.

New Vehicles in Texas get like a 2 year sticker, but then you have to do it once a year. They check to make sure you have a gun rack, make sure you dont have more than "personal use" Ammo so less than 1000 rounds, oh and people always forget the emmisions check, you gotta be able to Fart and run off at least 2 Democrats.

I bought my 3 in Delaware at Nucar Hummer. When I brought it I had to pay for a 4 year Joisey Registration sticker ..plus a .04 % Gas guzzle tax.
The Inspection fee was $80.00 Bucks a year I think, Times 4 ..$320.00!!!! On new cars they make you buy a 4 year sticker from Jump. The guzzle tax I think was around $150.00..

Yeah... we got it good here in Joisey...:twak:

Wow, I guess we are lucky here in Washington. No state inspections required, in some counties you have to have emissions (exempt for cars <5 years old & >25 years). Emissions is $15 test and you are done. Or if I want to bypass emmisions I just register at my parents place (different county, no emmisions). Life is good...

I asked Scott Hummer in allentown if they do that and they told me no...was that in your contact when you bought it cause I bought mine in June I also have over 7000 miles on it already too

When I brought the truck in to Scott Hummer for inspection, I asked Hummer Service Manager Devin Lehr what the cost would be...I remembered the first inspection there was free and I was not sure about this one...He told me inspection cost is free again and is for life because I purchased the truck there...not a contract thing, its something they do,he said....call again ,ask Devin about it ,see what he says...let us know what he says.....
