As Alan said we had a great time on our trip. It was a great group, we moved quickly and conquered un conquered Hummer territory(to my knowledge). Alan and I did not sustain any mechanical or body damage(even though the trail ratings told us we were pretty much gauranteed otherwise)....we cannot say the same for the Jeep. Unfortunately he couldnt run Slick Rock with us but it would have been fun watching    On to the pics....first up is my shots of our Slick Rock run then some other random trail shots. I also have short video clips as well. As soon as my father gets the footage on a pc well have a H2 slick rock ownage video.

Its not over here...after mounting slick rock you the trail goes pretty much straight up the mountain. You have this big ledge and then wet clay on the way up. This rock had glass all over the left hand side. Right up the middle there is a big drop off (to the left) so you pretty much have to go up off camber and apparently someone recently rolled:

Ken you have no idea! The trails are a gazillion times tougher than the ones we did the first trip...lol 4, 5 and 6 are the bunny trails now. Do you guys still have your Hummer? Whatever the case if you get to go to Tellico again you will have a completely different experience than last time.

Tellico is about 2.5 hours north of Atlanta, right on the North Carolina Tennessee border just north of the GA line. My drive was about 9 hours and certainly worth it.

I would love to make a tellico trip. Im in the process of finalizing what kind of winch and bumper i need.

What kind of necesities, like hard parts, do ya'll recommend i should bring with me before a trip like this? I'm on stock bfg's and stock suspension. So, atleast a set of HD tierods, and some cognito stuff.

Boss, what did you use to wrap the front fenders? My truck is also black and scratches show up like crazy with the black color. Still the nicest and fastest color up the mountain though!

I' probably gonna go with some toyo's OC's soon, my tires have about 25k miles on them, in one year, and i feel that i need better tire before a trip like this.

Yeah, I wish I could have made it. How was that trip? Did you guys get some pics? That was the Kinzalow's trip right? I'll do a bama trip, my buddy from birmingham wants to come along on my next run, so that would be good.

This was my first big trip with the Warn Multi-mount and I was impressed. I did not have any approach angle problems, it doesnt look like it hit any rocks to hard or anything. Its also very easy to remove and put in the bed or mount it on the back receiver. I have fabtech tie rods, cognito pitman and ider arm stiffening kit, and 37's. Thats it.

I didnt even need an allignment this time out and went on much harder obstacles. Its all about not turning when the wheels wont go easily and using momentum to get up stuff instead of throttling while on the obstacle.

Which bumper is not necessary, Alans mm did great. I think the fabtech tie rods will get you through pretty much anything. You could bring aspare cv axle but its not as necessary as upgrading your tie rods. IMO there is no longer a reason to run an all terrain. These days the M/T techonology is soo good you can have a tire that rides and drives like an a/t but the aggressive look and performance of a mt. My Kuhmo mts behave on road just as good as my stockers.

WOW........

That was entertaining. It amazes me how so many dip sh1ts won't even consider Hummers? an off road vehicle. I wheel with everyone I can. I could give a rats a$$ what they drive. I can't believe how controlled you guys were over there. It always makes them look like the d1cks they are:OWNED: ...

I agree, it is very entertaining...although im just an arrogant Hummer owner(so they say).

Cool pics, but why the grandstanding and claims of "owning" the trail? :lame: Why not just say we ran the trail and had fun and leave it at that? Let the pictures do the talking. Who cares what the hell you drive or where you drove it, just get out and have fun.

Ok so the pic of the Jeep I would agree is ownage, or pwn3d or whatever you intrerweb geeks want to call it.

I have no problem with the word "own" at all. It is just open to much speculation and debate over what is actually "owning" a trail. Let's take the Rubicon for example(mostly because it is a trail I have ran and know fairly well). So I would think that owning the Rubicon would be to not take any bypasses and run all the optional lines. Lines like Soup Bowl, Little Sluice, and Old Sluice. If you ran all these and got through them without winching or stacking rocks I would say you owned the Rubicon. Anything less would be up for debate. Is it running the whole trail without breaking even though you didn't run any of the hard stuff? Or is it not getting any body damage? I don't know. This is where the debate and and drama begins.

But the one thing for sure is that bragging about running a particular trail is in my opinion pretty lame and egotistical. If you ran the trail, great, if you didn't do any body damage or break anything, even better, kudos if you did this on a difficult trail. But to come out and imply that you are extra cool because you ran a trail is lame. Like I said, it doesn't matter what you drive or where you drove it. Just get out there, take some pics, and have fun along the way. Leave the grandstanding and drama to the kids who don't know any better.

Again, this is just my opinion, but I know for a fact that many people share the same opinion as I do.

Please carry on.....

No need to be PC, I am in no way PC myself. That's one of the things I like about this board, the freedom to be the non-PC idiot that I really am. I just found it funny that you guys should feel the need to brag about running this trail. Talking smack like you did over on Pirate is actually some pretty funny ****, but I felt there was no need to brag here. Again, just my opinion.

And if I didn't say it before, that looks like a fun trail to run. Congrats on getting your full sized rigs through it.

How do you like your Kumho Road Ventures ???

The size is misrepresented. When i purchased the tires the spec sheet on kumhousa.com showed 13.50 for the section width. I measured mine to be 12.50(under load), called Kumho an they say im an ignorant consumer who cannot possibly measure the section width of a tire. It has since changed to 12.50 so i guess it is represented accurately now. Their customer service is beyond horrible, they are frankly insulting. btw, i have both spec sheets showing the discrepancy.

Well, Tellico was closed by the USFS and no one knows whether it will be reopened. It would be a shame as it is probably the best public place to wheel in the east.

There are some private parks in the SE that are pretty good though and I am always up for going on a wheeling trip. If you want to go sometime, let me know and we'll try to get a crew together.

Tellico is currently closed for winter, but this is the same as last year--no changes here and it will reopen on April 1st. However, when Tellico opens in April, some of the best trails are closed for a 1year"trial" period. While there will be many trails open, trail 7, 9(slickrock), part of trail 8, and lower 2 will be closed for this trial period.

Im guessing the 1yr "trial" will be permanent and since the environmentalist got there foot in the door the next step will be full closure of Tellico.

Other than Tellico there are a few spots (Gray Rock, Morris Mountain, Superlift , Windrock and Gulches) that come to my mind but we have yet to run those--will be fun exploring new territory. Morirs Mountain is on my hit list for sure.

Man this looks like fun. I miss it. When I logged in today, the forum said I have not logged in since May 13th of 2006. I thought I'd check in to see how things have been.

Good to see some of the old guys still chiming in and some members still going off road and not just adding chrome or blacking it out. I remember when this forum was only about wheeling and proving to "the pickup" crowd an H2 could hang. I just found out Paragon was booted off also. Things sure have changed.
