DRL's in the 2008 H3

Are DRL's in the H3 the smaller white lights in the front bumper or just the main headlights at lower wattage?

In my new H3, the main headlights are on all the time. I thought my sensor was fouled up, but on another forum I am told that's the way it's supposed to be -- unlike my old H2.

Any insight here?
