I was wondering what the Base model in 2003 didn't have. I've owned both 2003 LUX and 2003 Adventure so I know what those have.
However, I'm looking at a Base 2003 H2 that has the cloth/vinyl seats. It does not have air ride or sunroof but it does seem to have everything else.
Did I miss anything else? I assume mechanically they are the same except trim items, correct?

Yes, it has everything else. I bought a Base model in 03 with the leather and sunroof as options.
It was cheaper than buying a lux and I did not have to deal with the chrome I did not want.\
I never wanted the air ride so the Adventure was out.

My '03 was a base with no leather no sunroof, no air....I added running boards, fuel door, etc... I would say the only otherthing it is "missing" is a 6-disc changer
True--I forgot about the six disk but did not want it anyway when I bought mine.

I really loved my 03..to me it was what HUMMER was all about, i guess the best way to say it is utilitarian
Yes, I was just thinking the other day, how much I loved picking up my first Hummer. It was raw and I was so happy to own it.
I had to park it behind my barn at first because my subcontractors would give me **** every time I owed them a dollar.
Now I am customizing Hummers to the tune of 100K plus and drive them everywhere. They have been all over the country, in front of millions.
Times change!
I got oevr the bull**** from others quickly--like in the first two weeks.

While looking for a new Hummer to replace mine I have created a checklist.
I have always liked the Adv. package but does a base model have the air compressor? This might be good for him to know in case he wants one. I am assuming it does not come with a third seat.
I guess DVD is out of the question!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_wink.gif jk
HummersGoneWild, just curious, why wouldn't you want the air ride? Not being sarcastic, just want to know what the down side of the air ride is. I have always found it to be helpful.
Jennfier:
It is just personal preference. I lift all my Hummers and I do not want the extra stuff that can go wrong with air suspension when lifted----also the auto leveling and so forth dos not work well for me because I want a certain rake on my lifted wehicles.
I think the air ride is fine and I do not think you were in any way being caustic or sarcatic.

That makes perfect sense w/ the mods that you do. I added the "sarcastic" comment because you never know on this forum how people will take things! This is why I keep my white flag up as my avatar!! http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif Just wanted to make certain you knew I wan't being an ass w/ my question!
Look at my posts for the past year and a half or so--I have never been an ass on here to anyone's question. I leave that to others.

I just test drove the Black (Base) H2. It also doesn't have seat heaters. But...I do like the seat material. It's a vinyl/cloth blend and it does not crack or have ugly spider veins like regular leather. In fact, if you have active kids or go wheeling a lot, that is the interior trim have (I know it's available only on the previous base models).
The base has no frills but it looked sweet with all black and no chrome.
