View Full Version : Hummer Attacks by Jealous non-owners

My 2003 Hummer H2 has been vandalized quite a few times. I'm wondering if others have had problems?

Door keyed to the metal in Yosemite Valley, along with both side mirrors bashed in.
Chewed and spit up tuna fish sandwich splattered all over it, again in Yosemite Valley.
Door keyed to metal in Reno in hotel parking lot. I had Arnie endorsements for governor, vandel wrote filthy comments on top of endorsement.
Bag stolen from back seat, contained H2 manual, extra keys, and lots of other stuff.
Spare tire cover stolen in Mammoth Lakes, CA.
Post-It note left on windshield in Santa Clarita, CA, telling me I am an "environmental pig."

Obviously, Yosmite Valley and CA in general seem to not be Hummer friendly. These idiots don't realize that I live in the mountains, and deal with heavy snowfalls on a daily basis in the winter. Try backing a wimpy electrical car over the ice berm in my driveway and sliding on down the street on the black ice! I also really go 4wheeling...hard trails. I travel to Baja on a regular basis and am on dirt more than pavement. These idiots don't realize that many Hummer owners bought because it fits their life style. I also usually have a crowd with me, and all sit in total comfort.
As far as emissions, well, my H2 causes less pollution than those smoke belting VW vans. And it is lower than even some sports cars. So there.

I think that just about everyone on this forum has had similar run-ins, though maybe not to your degree. I would get a good alarm system, motion detection etc. You can search the threads for alarms that current forum members are using.
Hope I helped you out,

I think it just depends on the area and the areas attitude. Around here Hummers are as common as Hondas. I've never had a bad remark yet. I get compliments more than anything. I worry more about someone stealing it than vandalizing it.

:iagree:

My only thing is that in 3 years when I PCS, to either Cali or Nevada, that I will fall into the ranks of those and then become subject to the abuse that some are seeing in these states. I have been looking into an alarm system such as the Viper 5900sst lately. However, based of some of the experience with alarms and the protection specs, which alarm do most of you guys recommend that has the features you need and the crap that you don't? Thanks in advance..Jamie

I have been broken into numerous times and had a good deal of expensive gear stolen. I had my truck stolen once. I don't think any of that had to do with tree huggers, just criminals. I have had my truck spat upon several times and had animal feces thrown on the windshield (at the natural food co-op of course). I had someone put a note on my windshield telling me that I am the reason we are at war in Iraq. I have been flipped off more times than I can remember and had one french woman stand in the road and flag me down as if she was in distress, only to tell me that she hated my "car". But then again, driving home from Big Bear in today's high winds, My vehicle was th only one on the freeway with a high enough weight to profile ratio to maintain a decent speed. I dig my truck and they can all go fukk themselves. :clapping::clapping::clapping:

Definitely move. I'm in south Texas and have had nothing but positive comments on my truck for 4 years now. Most people come up to me to tell me it's their dream truck or want to see the inside. Get out of CA and you'll see the vandalism stop.

Any time you live in an area with a bunch of liberal hippies you are gonna be a victum, these people are so blinded and ignorant they should be shipped off to thier own little island somewhere with no cars at all. There are quite a few Hummers all over my area, I have never had an issue, got a dirty look from some wormy looking little fag in a Prius last month but thats about the extent of it.

Even in Dallas I've had a few problems. But as the number of H2 and especially H3s goes up, it seems to have mellowed.

I think people are looking at the H3s seriously, since they are such a bargain compared to the competition, and after driving one they are laying off the H2s.

I do occasionally get the 1 finger salute, I just swerve into their lane and scare the hell out of them. Nothing like a giant Hummer about to crush a little p*ssymobile to get someones attention!

That is so incredibly incorrect unless you drive an H2 or H1. Don't ever make the mistake that just because it's a Hummer, it's a tank. H3s are cheap for a reason and are pretty much lightweights like any regular car. Foolish. Very foolish.

But if it's your H2, that statement is correct.:D

I used to think I used to get some flak too. After speaking to my northern mesicasian bro, I now realize I live in paradise. Trust me, our persecution here in the US is NOTHING compared to across the border! :jump:

It's actually quite different now. I haven't washed the body of the H2 in a year (Just powerwash the engine and underbody) and combination with the body damage, every comment I get is, "Finally! A Hummer being used for what it was meant to be.":jump:

That and the fact I wheel with modded trucks driven by heavy hitters, it's quite famous down here with the local clubs. :D

Never had many problems in CO.

However....
Adam has had feces wiped all over his rig. But it's never been officially determined whether a vandal did it or he did it himself.

Hummer Hybrid thats good.

Myself I would never leave it in an area that supplies these types of loonies, or even live there much less, here in Alaska we just leave an empty holster on the front seat.

It really is unfortunate that these folks hate certain things so passionately.
It is no different with firearms.

On other boards I read and post on, there are plenty of compaints from fellow members who live in California, and so affectionately call it Commifornia, for it's horrible views towards anything that isn't warm & fuzzy.
It's a good thing that we aren't fighting a war against terror!

S FL is great. THe BRUTE just continues to dazzle...I take it to the beach on weekends, park alongside the ocean and I get people from all walks of life stopping me to chat and telling me how beautiful it is. Once in a while someone asks me about the mpg and I tell them I get about 2-3 times the mpg of a motorboat...That kinda leaves them scratching their heads for a while...:clapping:

I had some write in permanent black marker on my hood "My luxury costs american lives! "

Luckily it ended up coming off without an issue. I think it was the damn lesbaru that was parked next to me at dinner. :lame:

I am a 24 year old guy in the oilfeild and I've had my SUT for 8 months now. I am proud to tell people hardworkand oil has paid for my H2. When I get the old "the only place you can take that thing is to the gas station" line, I laugh and say great I'm just supporting myself!ha I really like all of your post's they are truly speaking the truth. The only flak I usually get is about being a spoiled rich kid, again I just smile and think in my mind "you wish you could have a vehicle as bad ass is this." I then proceed to tell them how hard work and dedication pays off. I am praying for the day when a tree hugger starts in on me about how im killing the enviroment and what not. I've already thought of a good response though. "Do you have a daughter,Yes, well tell her she forgot underware in my back seat!"haha But seriously for the guy's getting hated upon take it with a grain of salt as they say. I am hooked and I will be a Hummer owner for life!:beerchug:

I work in San Francisco. I get this stuff all the time.

I've been called an Earth Murder. Screamed it at me rather.
My rig has been goobered on several times.
Somebody wrote 'I Suck' in white paint on the passenger side front fender.
While parked in the mission sombody broke off the driver mirror. Just the mirror piece, coke head?

I used to get the bird a lot. Haven't in a while though.
I think you get more enraged hate when you bling it out (mine is).

I get x100 more compliments than hate and to be honest I just don't care. I love the truck.

Yea, Truthfully I have never had a negative comment in central Florida - Tampa area. There seem to be alot of hummers in this area. I do like the idea of a hybrid tag under the hummer emblem!

I had my tailgate keyed to the metal on each side of the license plate, about the size of a volleyball. Since then no damage but have had a few people give me the finger. I think the best response is to give them the hippie peace two finger sign. I'm sure it enrages them.

People are only going to get pissed if they are jealous or have some other mental issues going on. I live in NC and parked in the back of a parking lot one day, no other cars around for 40 spaces. When I came out someone had spit all over it.

Then I parked in the back of another parking lot with about 70 FREE spaces between other cars...... nothing around anywhere. I parked it in the middle of two lanes (oopsie). Came back out to a sticky note :Learn to park ******* and move back up North"

I always laugh it off..... nothing I can't fix. Just really sad to think of the sorry individual that took the time out of their day to do something like that. Maybe they should take the time to help someone in need?

BTW about the HYBRID emblems...... what a great idea. That would be pretty funny.

When a hater gets the balls to approach me (I am intimidating in person)and asks/makes a smart ass remark about the MPG on the Hummer. I tell them nto to worry, it eats less gas than my Lamborghini :fdance: :fdance:
Once they realize I am serious they are usually speechless....

I'm glad I live in a small rural state, Arkansas. Everyone is to busy dealing with a tornado to worry about how much gas anything burns. Plus with all the pickup trucks they know the truth about what mpg they get versus an H2.
