I'm curious what you folks think the pros and cons are between a soft top Alpha and a Wagon.

Wagons have a little more dry storage space. I guess they'd be more secure. Any disadvantages when wheeling one? (more likely to rub on a tree with the top?)

Soft tops: Are they warm in the winter? Are they truly dry? Do they rip easily? What's the life of the canvas?

HMCO's are warm in the winter, but they are more noisy. They do rip pretty easy (branches on trails), rips aside the top itself will last a long time. The velcro is another story. Are you thinking about a new purchase Rocks?

HMCO? Must be military talk for soft top.;) Thanks for the reply.

MAYBE

(That's a big maybe :D)

I really haven't kept up on any of the differences in H1's. I wish they had a hard top Alpha pickup. That'd be great for the area I live in.

HMC4 (Ya know, the hard-top). ;)

Your stuff is safe inside, you have a truck bed, and IMO they look the best.

HMC4 (Ya know, the hard-top). ;) Thanks for spelling that out.

Your stuff is safe inside, you have a truck bed, and IMO they look the best.I think those look the best too, but the newer ones don't come with that option. I haven't ever driven one, I got to ride in a soft top once but not long enough to really check it out. I really like the look, but it just isn't enough room for me and my kids. :(

The wagon is named appropriately. It looks just like something off Little House on the Prarie, but at least everything is safe and dry.:giggling:

Actually, you'd be looking for an "HMDO"...

They changed to a "D" for "Duramax" in the Alpha.
