View Full Version : Dealer test tracks
Anybody else have a dealer build a test track, then "NOT" let anyone on it unless a salesman is doing the driving? Thus it's an $80,000 display case!
Just curious!?!?

That does seem pretty damn stupid but I am sure it has something to do with insurance coverage.
Well, liability concerns anyway.
If we build it...they can't come! :-)

It might be that insurance doesn't allow them to do it.
Does your dealership let you walk around the service bays?

We would only let the owners drive after a waiver was signed. If you hit the gas hard you will rip the truck up easy. The tracks are sales tools. You can have more fun with a club or going to an event.

They just built one where I'm from, and I went on it when the dealership was closed http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif, but it's not that big of a deal.

Lots of dealers are, and rightfully so, worried that the dealerships will become the new Disneylands of the community once they open the offroad courses.

Since we live in such a law suit society, it is always better to be safe that sorry. Don't lock it up and at 2am some night some idiot is going to try it in his sports car and sue the dealer for damages. The sad thing is he might win. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif
