XBox 360 by far. More games and for an extra $100 you can get the add-on HD player. Plus, they are the owners of Halo 3.:)

I got the PS3. XBOX360 is a great console too, but I personally think PS3 is the future of next gen !!!

PLAYSTATION 3 by a landslide it blows away all the other consoles it is off the freakin wall good. Graphics blow away the 360 graphics by far espiaclly if your playing it on a huge HDTV truthfully the only thing nice about xbox is the halo games other than playstation rocks on everything else, plus we got GTA coming out soon

Did not know that. Might have to consider owning both.

Funny story:
I recently bought my 7 yr old daughter a Nintendo DS as a stocking stuffer for Christmas. Well, we (wife mainly) decided to open it up and try out one of the games. Well, she decided that maybe she could keep it and we buy my daughter another one. Then, I got to playing my wife's after buying another one for my daughter, and I started liking it. Well now, we all have a DS, and over 12 games to choose from, not to mention the games that Santa will bring my daughter.

It would depend on who you are looking for. For kids and casual gamers...I would say the Wii. It is more fun...and semi-active...but not for the more dedicated...hardcore gamers.

As far as the 360vsPS3...I would say right now...360. I have owned both (long story)...and anyone who claims they can see a difference in the game that have come out so far is full of it. The ps3 has more "potential"...but as of right now (and probably at least the next year or so...if not indefinately)...the 360 is better...hands down. It is easier to program for...which makes for better, cleaner looking games.

And this is coming from someone who hates Microsoft, and owned a PS2 rather than an Xbox. Just my .02

I'm a Wii owner and enthusiast. It doesn't have the graphic capabilities of the other two, but it has the best control and most fun gameplay in my opinion. I play 360 and PS3 alot, my friends have 'em, but I'm always happy to go home to my Wii.

Besides, a Madden where you actually have to THROW the football? 'Nuff said.:D

With that said, to each there own. Some like others more. Just get your kid which one they want. (Unless you don't want to shell out $500 for the PS3!!)

Actually, I found out yesterday that Nintendo is donating Wii systems to elderly homes (nursing homes) to encourage mobility and socialization among its residents. Seems they may be onto something. However, I still think it is geared more towards younger kids.

Yep, underlying cause always reverts back to money. Not such thing as corporate charity.
