2008 NAIAS - Detroit

I am planning on going to at least one of the public days this January.

Can anyone who is familiar with the show and Detroit recommend where to stay? I'll be flying in to one of the smaller airports, but don't know which one is close to a good area to stay.

The downtown hotels are all 4 night minimum stay, and I only want to go up and back.

If your flying in in your own small plane, Metetal (sp) airport in Plymouth puts you in a good area with a lot of Hotel choices close by along the I-275 corridor. It's about a 20-30 min drive to downtown from that area most of the time. Even flying into Metro, your best choices for hotels in a good area resonably close to downtown would be along I-275, with everything toward the north end of 275 being nicer($).
