Just wondering if any of you have had to change your hub at all? And, knowing that I have to change 1, should I just do both????

I had to replace my front right hub in June, '04 with 80k miles. $350 plus labor.

if you suspect a bad hub or bearing do a couple of quick tests while driving. you will need a road with a long curve like an exit ramp. if you hear a howl or hum from the suspect bearing put it into the a curve to transfer weight away from the bearing. if the noise quits its most likely the bearing on the inside of the turn. I have also found if you back up at low speed with the wheels cut hard one way or the other you can find bad CV joints, listen for the then to "Clunk" repetedly while turning.

I have that problem with turning right on off-ramps. My right WB is bad. I found them on ebay for $140. Just haven't bought one yet. Shouldn't be too bad to replace it yourself...

I have an increasing noise... sounds like a WW2 Bomber wwoooooooowoooooooowwooooooowooooooo starts at 36 Mph and just gets louder.

seems to be drivers side...swapped tires ( looking a little worn) front to rear... noise still there.

drive up the road and rock steering to left ( truck then tilts onto the passenger side) noise goes away........ truck levels out..... My bomber is back again.

bought a bearing (complete HUB with ABS sensor $85) and got my tech guy to stick it on.... FRICKIN NOISE STILL THERE .:crying:

Get up to speed and knock it into neutral ..... noise there.... is there a inner bearing???? I can see a flange at the end of hte drive shaft

Or are we then talking diff bearing..

anyone else having this challenge... noise is insane..... actually wish the bearing would blow out so I knw for sure which one it is.

I have had to replace the Hubs on both of my side once already, currentl waiting for the timkin ones to come in for the 2nd time to replace.

i used this the first time i replaced them took me about 4 hours to do both sides, will probably take me a little less time this go around.
I id have to get some replacement nuckle bolts due to the fact thaty a couple of them were rounded off, so i will see how my bolt extracter set works.
