I want to remove my front drive shaft for the summer months to save gas any one see any problems that might arise

More trouble than its worth, removing the shaft is more complicated than just removing bolts since I believe the rear end of the shaft is a splined yoke that slides onto the transfer case spline (similar to how a torque converter sits on a transmission).... removing this will result in fluid loss. I also think any mileage gain (should you figure out a way) would be minimal at very best.... like maybe 1mpg. If your looking to save on mileage get yourself a tune, air intake and switch all fluids to a synthetic such as royal purple, with all this you may see a 2MPG increase if your lucky
