Also heard today that in order to meet the standards of the new mpg set by or fearless leader yesterday, the Corvette may be phased out by 2010 b/c of its 24mpg rating. Guess H2's will also be a thing of the past unless the diesel engine proves superior mpg gains over the current ratings.

What were the MPG standards? I am sure they will create a class that is exempt for such vehicles.

The Corvette has never been considered a gas guzzler. Many people report 25-30 MPG averages. I'm guessing the Vette will be around...
The new MPG ratings are for "Fleet average".....
as long as GM continues to raise the efficiency of their other vehicles the Corvette will never have an issue..........

Is that final or still in the works? I thought they were saying 35 MPH by 2025 and the auto industry said it could not happen.
