I knew it was bound to happen, the Supercharger is just too much for the H2 trans. Heck, i dont even beat on mine...only do a full throttle accel once in a while.
My trans has been slipping badly and as of yesterday it wouldnt shift out of 1st until 5000 RPM. Getting it repaired as we speak. Bummer, no H2 for a while. Now I get to drive my 2008 Mustang GT convertible 5 speed in the NY winter. Fun.
I got to say, it might be expensive, but it was worth it to smoke all those kids in the little honda civics that think a civic's and Jetta's are race cars! When i was in high school (the 90's) the only people that drove those were GAY! Even the girls drove camero's!

A lot of kids in high school have H2's here on Long Island, VERY common.
BTW, have u ever rode in a supercharged H2? You may be surprised. It comes DAM CLOSE to beating my Mustang GT in the 1/4 mile. Off the line there is no contest, a supercharged H2 out of the hole kicks ass of most anything.

Many people that belong to this forum were the first to ever have superchargers on their H2's. KenP for one had Ligenfelter basicly use his rig to do their first supercharger prototype install on a H2 2003. I came along a little later in spring of 2005 but, I and a few have pushed the Hp etc. more than most and it will continue to progress up with my rig using water/meth inj. and aftercooler co2 spray as i raise boost to 16 maybe up to 18 lbs.
To answer your question out right, yes many of us have ridden in H2's with superchargers on them installed ourselves even and my H2 would beat your Mustang in the 1/4 as it is set up to do that. There are a few more H2's from here that could do it also. Do not misunderstand not knocking your Mustang but, just mentioning some things so you know that not all H2's are run just for off road. Some of us compete in shows as well as drag race. I love eating rice rockets and some domestics. It is a rush even at 6 lbs. of boost and even more so if tranny has been tuned so it does not go belly up on you in a short while. Several of us have learned so many tricks or knew them already from our drag racing days etc. to prepare for what would happen to a full stock tranny with nothing done to it. I know many here who have 5lbs. of boost and stock tranny and never had any problems. Sometime it is just the bad draw on the components in the drivetrain.
Good Luck on Your tranny rebuild. I hope it goes better this time around.

Wow. :notallthere: If your parents are loaded enough to buy you a Lambo in highschool, why bother even going to school? I dare say you're probably set for life!

Heck, a friends little sister who is 16 drives a H2. Aparently she love it, but yea...saying her family is rediculously loaded would be an understatement.
So there are definatly a lot of younger people out there with H2's.
Taz, I agree with u man. Im telling the other guy, he doesnt realise how fast a H2 with some boost is. Heck, I wouldnt have beleaved it would make that much of a difference at 6lbs of boost myself until i drove it.
What 1/4 mile times are you seeing at 10lbs? Im in the low 15's on a totally stock H2 with just the Magnacharger. If you tell me u r seeing anything in the 13's I will be VERY impressed. Im sure with smaller, street tires alone that would proboly put me in the 14's, but I 4 wheel and drive over stuff a lot so im not going to go that direction.
Its odveous that full throttle shifts are what kills the trans, i will let off on the shifts from now on. Also, they are putting in the corvette servo's on the rebuild so that should help a bit.

Here is from a Gtech Pro on s/c H2.

Get yourself a shift kit and you'll shift faster (better acceleration) and no slipping...
Here is from a Gtech Pro on s/c H2.
I got 5.7s to 0-62, but I have smaller pulley, PCM upgrade, headers, transimission kit etc etc

what type of tranny kit do you have?
I think it was Transgo. Allen Nelson got it for me along with the tune. Very simple and cheap part that will change your truck more than any other tune in my opinion. It costs around $150 + installation.
Pre 08 H2's are VERY slow to shift and to change that you need the PCM upgrade and the shift Kit. These go for about $700 total or less and will give you more performance than just SC alone. This is my opinion of course. So if you pay sever thousands for SC I don't see why you would't you upgrade you shifting and tune.
Hope this helps...
Get the tune from Nelson, and the 'vette servos will do you wonders.

3Hummer, your school sounds like my school, . I'm 17 and drive an H2, but not by choice though I do love it. And about the S/C. What have some of you done to get into Mustang GT territory? I would love to have a 5.5-6.5 second H2, but with stock Mustang GTs running 4.9-5.3 it seems like a lot of work would be necessary to get to that level. Also, has anyone put the Lingenfelter Twin Turbo in their H2 yet? If I ever win the lottery that might be my first present to myself.

You don't need twin turbo to go that low on 0-60 times. I have magna charger and some other tunes and I'm running high 5's on 0-62. Total cost of it runs near $10k.

That's not bad at all for such a big rig. Though I'm content with the speed I've got now. The only way I would ever try and get better performance is if a large sum of money somehow fell into my lap, and if that happened I'd probably do it big and just go for the twin turbo. 700+ hp sounds fun... What do you guys with the Magnachargers and various tunes etc. dyno at?
about 600hp and it sounds like it too...

I went and checked it out today, they are in the middle of rebuilding the trans, seeing all the trans in pieces and the transfer case siting on the floor was scarey. They said it should be ready tommorow, impressive. They are putting the corvette servos in it so hopfully it will hold up better.
Ill keep you guys posted.

600 HP? I don't doubt you but how did you come up with that number? I know that I did the mag charger, dynatec headers, and rockers. I KNOW that I have noticed a huge difference in performance.:jump: However, when I brought my rig to the dyno I only had about 319 hp from the rear wheel. :notallthere: I know lots of HP is lost in the transfer of power from the engine to the rear wheels but I expected more than 319! :crying:

New trans, corvette servos.....it runs a lot better...shifts are positive not sloppy and "car like" like a stock H2.
I was thinking about all this HP in these trucks and just thought I'd mention that when the front tires spin and suddenly get traction tie rods snap.
Make sure you get the FabTech replacements, if you haven't already, or you will do some serious damage to your trucks if one snaps.

H2s have 4L80s correct? they are suppose to be stout transmissions. im a camaro guy and lots of guys with LS1s are putting 4L80s in their cars to have a strong trans with OD..
doing stuff like headers and a stall converter (with trans cooler) really wake these motors up
