View Full Version : Which Christmas gift sucked this year?

My MIL hates me so it's always interesting to see what she sends. A few years ago it was a plastic cup from Walgreens with a manatee on it (she has a sea animal fixation which no one quite understands) - anyways, the cup still had the $1.69 price tag on the bottom. Hubby got a check for $150 and 6 hardback Stephen King books that year.
This year she went even cheaper (is it possible?) - it's a notepad with an otter on it. But on the back, it says "Thank you for your subscription, here's your free gift!" The worst part is, it's not even something I can sell on Ebay. :(
Anyone else get messed-up gifts?

Send her one of your used tampons and attach a tag to it's string saying, "Suck on this."
Too harsh?:D

Holy hell thats funay! :giggling:
I in the past when my grandmother was alive would give me the most hilarious gifts. She perpetually thought I was 8 yrs old, and all the way up till the age 25 she gave me things like Hulk Hogan wrestling figures or "old Spice" cologne.... :excited:

Okay, that just sucks! I didn't get any bad gifts this year but one time a guy at work kept saying he had a surprise for me. This was years ago and so as to be on topic, it was around Christmas. I was really excited and when he gave me the gift, it was one of those troll pens. The ones with the freaky troll head and big fuzzy green hair. R's grandmother gave him a girl's sweater once for Christmas. (bless her heart LOL)

Old Spice smells good in a 1960's granddad kind of way. :)

The first Christmas after hubby and I got married, the in-laws got me some knee pads. Now, even though hubby and I are "do it yourself" kinda people, I was like.....WTF - is this a joke?? Why the hell would you give your new daughter-in-law knee pads as a gift??? Very strange! :twak:
I just smiled and said thank you.

YOU DUMB F**KING HUSBAND needs to have a talk with his mother..
SHE is intentionally being rude to you and your husband is allowing it to continue...nuff said....................................

Knee pads is hilarious. One year my dad got mom one of those neck massagers so we're all at the diningroom table and mom says, "Oh, let me show you the vibrator your dad got me!" We started laughing and it went right past her. She brought it back to the table and still kept saying it was her new vibrator. :clapping:

I wish my wife would have gotten some knee pads. Its really bad when in the summer and we are in public and her knees look all "rashed up" from the carpet. Maybe next year.....:clapping:

OMG Stacey -
It made me laugh, but its kind of tragic. Your hubby should have a sit down with his mom and explain a few things.
perhaps you could give her used post cards of nice places you think she might like to visit. ;)
The worst gift I got wasn't even for me. It was for the 5 yr old. She discovered the sparkling lotion, which now coats my left arm, and the pretty lip gloss that she enjoys putting on me. :crying: :D
We got over cooked Chex Mix and Dollar Tree mugs from CP's sister. :giggling:
Great. Guess who just encouraged the little one to use the fuking fingernail polish? :o

Just wait till she finds out what she can do to a defenseless baby. Better stock up on those "I'm a BOY" tees. ;)
Don't diss the husband, MIL is just a psycho bitch. The first time he was deployed, she told him he was a "bad son" because his deployment ruined her summer vacation plans. At which point he told her where to shove it and they didn't speak for a year. She came crawling back a much nicer person. Meaning she saved me the Ebay listing fees this year, the gift was able to go right in the trash.

I am sorry, I have to say something here and I know it will cost me but here goes....
RYD, you are way out of line here. You have no right to talk to her this way or about her husband. That is his mother and right or wrong its thier business to deal with.
If she wants to vent let her vent, but you are way out of line talking about someones husband that way.
I will appologize in advance if you guys are personal friends beyond this board which would allow her to tolerate your words, but thats above the top disrespectful.
Good grief!
