Info on 04 H1

Hey,
I've been looking into buying an 04 H1, but I'd like to know if there are anything I should look for when I'm inspecting it. Also are there any mechincal issues I should be aware of??

Does anyone have a 04.....??

They are solid trucks. Just make sure its fully serviced, and have it inspected by a qualified shop.

Are you a previous HUMMER owner?

Are there any previous maintenance records on the 04?

Get it inspected professionally and/or use Chuck's guide on flashoffroad.com.

Do get the service records. That will tell you a lot. I am not aware of any '04 specific issues. Keep us posted! Good luck.

They are tough, tougher than H2's as you'd expect. Besides the obvious like avoid demiliterized models, the 04 is a solid vehicle without any major issues I can think of off the top of my head given its nature. There is a huge amount of information about the 04 and it's similarities/differences with other year models [06 has different engine/transmission etc.] here 04 Hummer H1 mechanical issues (http://www.forumdig.com/search.aspx?q=04+Hummer+H1+mechanical+issues).

the 04 has the optimizer motor and is impossible to get any power up grades , I would go for an 03

You can still put in injectors, exhaust, and depending on when the computer shuts the boost down, you can add a wastegate.
