I am contemplating switching my service completely and going with AT&T to get one of them. Although I do wish they had Adobe reader on them as well as the option to cut and paste, and of course....MORE MEMORY since you can now watch you tube on them. I'm wondering if I should wait til these are upgraded or if it would be a downloadable upgrade once it is in the works. Thanks guys.....Jamie

They are worth twice the price, seriously. I travel all the time and everyone I run into in the airports, using their stupid Treos and Blackberrys, drools over my iPhone. It's awesome cuz you have full-blown internet on a tiny PC that takes about 2 seconds to boot up. Half the time I'm posting here it's from iPhone. I love the maps use it all the time for directions.

I will buy the next generation when it comes out, no doubt. I'm already dreading the day I have to send my iPhone it for a battery replacement. I heard it takes 3 days and I can't imagine going 3 days w/o it!

My Wife and I love ours! We were going to cut back on some expenses so I gave mine up because I didn't want to break it while on military duty (I'll be getting another one as soon as reasonable), but the wife tried to give her's up for a Pink Slvr. She made it a whole day, almost, without the iPhone. We are kinda Apple freaks, they make great products. It's very useful and the new update makes it even better. Apple is so far ahead of everyone when it comes to this device. I can only imagine what they will come up with next.

I'm not an Apple freak.........until now. After having the iPhone for a month, I'm actually considering buying a Mac for my next personal laptop. It's that cool and well thought out.

Are you referring to changing carriers away from ATT ???

if you are and don't know about it a teenage boy from a well to do family had his parents buy him an i-phone, since he was/is one of those whizkid/geeks (not a bad thing) and he took it apart, ANALIZED the parts and circuits , discovered which THING A MA GIG locked it to ATT, eigher changed or reprogrammed it and now it works on another carrier...now to top that off he posted somewhere on the web how to do it, FOR FREE...this was all over the news just after the i-phone came out...

Now if your talking about me hating terrorist then you will have to explain yourself...

and your answer is ???????????????????

Funnily enough I did exactly that before I came back out here to Kazakstahn - I have had the phone for about three months and broke down and got myself a Macbook Pro the other week - I cant believe the difference - when I get home every PC that I own is going in the trash - end of Microsoft for me.

Just pottering around here on night shift in Kazakhstan - and downloaded Iphone Drive from Ecamm Network. It opens up your Iphone as an external drive - handy if you use the notes function etc as you can now transfer them directly from the phone to a computer - it also allows you to transfer music from your phone to your laptop - though not the other way around it appears - odd.

You can store files on the phone using it as an external drive - but you cant access them from the phone - handy if you have Iphone drive on a couple of computers and want to use your phone as a portable drive.

So my phone is now worth the money even more.

Iphone drive only works on Mac by the way.

Thanks for the info. I plan to wait til I return from deployment and hopefully by then the 3rd generation will be out and ready. I plan to buy one for the wife and I. I guess I'll use that $1500 that the gov't is giving out to spruce the economy. What a joke......:D
