I would still be driving my 06 if it werent totaled. I loved it. If you don't mind the engine, it's a great little truck

The '07 got an upgrade to 3.7 liters from the 3.5 in the '06. I don't know the specific performance numbers. I have added exhaust and a K&N filter to my '06 and it pepped it up a bit. With either engine your not going to win too many races, but it is good enough for all the situations I've had it in!!

I really like my '06. I got a GREAT deal on mine which played a big part in my decision to buy. If the price is right and you like it...I say go for it!! :beerchug:

in addition to what Sheriff said the 07's also got a boost from 220 HP to 242HP and the torque went up from 220 Lb-Ft of torque to 242 Lb-Ft of torque. It may not seem like a lot but 22 more horsepower on a car of this weight makes a difference. I know when i bought mine I also looked atthe '06's cause i really wanted green as the color but as soon as i drove the '07 i noticed the power difference, and sacraficed the color for that added power.

Just got an 06 Adventure, same as posted before the $ made the difference for me. 24,XXX miles, just check the values online at Kelly Blue book & NADA, do a mechanical check, Buy it if you think its a deal, then the most important step is to try and wear it out! Post pics and stories.

Enjoy the hunt and good luck.

Yeaaaahhhh, no! That's what I thought too. I got a speeding ticket for 6 over near OBX last year. I told the cop that it took me the last 4 miles and 120 hail marys to get it up that fast. He didn't even crack a smile. Just wrote me the ticket and told me to slow down.

Still in my 06 H3, and I have to give it two thumbs way down. Too many problems, way under-powered, low-tech interior, and super uncomfortable backseats. The only thing I really like about my H3 is the look, and the level of safety I feel while driving it.

Whew! I'm glad you had something good to say about the H3 in your closing sentence! LOL. I still love my '06 H3, but am hoping for my H2 soon.

see as for me, no comment on the power, but low-tech interior, i LOVE it, its extremly simple and easy to use its straight foward and i like that its just what you need and nothing more. As for the uncomfortable back seats, who sits int he back of their own car?!?!?! the car is for the driver!

I traded a 06 base for a 07 with the adventure package. There is a real difference in the trucks. They fixed a lot of issues with second year. I have no issues with the power in the 07, I did with the 06. It is a much quieter vehicle, rides better, runs really well.

Also I do not have to worry about a head failure.

It kind of proves wait for the second year of a new vehicle.

Funny you should mention that head failure. I also have an 06. While I was waiting for the dealer to swap out a blown rear speaker one of the technicians came into the parts dept and asked the dude to order a head for an 07. It caught my attention and so I asked. He's said that he's changed 3 out so far. My 2 pesos.

I have 23k on mine now, purchased August 2005. It is my daily driver and I have a short commute. I haven't done any extreme rock crawling, but have spent a fair amount of time on wash board roads and on soft sand beaches. I also went from many years of V8 SUV's to the H3.
I am not a speed demon driver and don't think the H3 was designed for drag racing! I occasionally get up to 80 or so on the highway and really don't like going much faster than that in any vehicle, although I am sure you could drive the H3 at 80 all day and not have any problems.
Other than several false DIC warnings, I have had zero issues with this vehicle. Sure, I constantly pop tires and go in for alignments, but washboards do that to any vehicle. In fact, the washboards tend to destroy most vehicles and I am impressed at how the H3 has held up with that kind of punishment.
Everything works, I do have some rattles that annoy me which I have been unable to locate and correct, mainly due to my own impatience of taking the time to figure it out.
I have absolutely no complaints about the 2006 H3. I was worried with the head problems that some people were having, but as was pointed out by some of the Hummer technicians that frequest this board, the issue was confined to a very small percentage of the early build vehicles. In fact, I believe there is a thread somewhere on here that you may find the latest VIN number that was affected, which may help you with your purchasing decision.
When mine was delivered, I crossed the border into Mexico on a first year build H3 with less than 200 miles on it and thought this may have been the dumbest thing I ever did. Especially since there was no dealer within 1,000 miles!
Turns out that it was a great decision and I have to hand it to Hummer for taking the R&D time, cost and effort in making such a great vehicle.I know I will get some flack for this, but I believe most of the "underpowered" comments come from onroad users, rather than off road users.
I am definitely keeping mine until the HX comes out - assuming it will be
available with most of the concept options...

haha exactly!!! Who cares about the whining babies in the back. just slide the seat back all the way and see how they like it then. And as for power mine has all I need. I got a ticket two weeks ago for 87 in a 65, Id say it gets around pretty good. K&N claim their cold air intake will add almost 19Hp for under 300 bucks too. but K&N claims that, I may try it out along with an exhaust upgrade.
