I have an '06 H3 LUX and am negotiating on an '08 H2 SUV. Can someone give me the the pro's and con's on the differences between the two? I like the SUT, but it's not practical for us, so am looking at the SUV. Thanks!

Ain't the lux with much more chrome ? I got the Adventure with chrome package. Just enough chrome. I prefer the black brush guard for example.

Go to www.hummer.com and build both vehicles and compare.

Good luck !

Totally depends upon what you intend to use the vehicle for. Case in point. My father had an 06 SUT and traded it on an 08 SUV. I like the looks of the SUT, but its just not practicle for how I use the vehicle, and my father found the same.

He had issues with the hatch cover which had to be fixed several times, and the bed itself was not all that big to be really usable to haul things.

When I need to haul large items, I just use my utility trailer.

The 08 is a much better machine IMHO due to the improved drivetrain and the improved interior. Many say the interior isnt as rugged as before, but I appreciate the upgraded luxury and comfort of it as compared to my 06 SUV that I had.

Thanks for your thoughts. I'm between the '07 (I like the interior more) and the '08. But the '07's I'm finding now have early '06 build dates, which means they have been sitting around on the lots for awhile. We'd use the H2 as a daily driver without any need to haul things (other than ourselves .. :giggling:) Any off-roading would done in a dealer loaner or a friends Hummer. I like the look of the SUT, but know that the '08 would be more practical. ;)

I ordered mine ('06 desert sand SUV) with both. I wanted the dark interior and rear heated seats of the LUX, and the air suspension etc. of the Adv. Once it was delivered to the dealer, I had them take off most of the chrome ext (racks, bars, brush guard, etc.) and replace them with the black.

The only real difference in 2002 was the coils v airbags in the rear suspension. I have seen lots of problems, especially on the trail, with those airbags. Glad to have the coils. Not one single rear suspension problem, ever.

Adventure is better IMO..... 2" of extra clearnce has un-stuck me from a high centered situation and the compressor is great for blowing up bike tires, mattresses, etc. If you have 37's they will rub the sensors unless you modify them (5 minutes). Also towing is great w/ the air springs because they self level.

well in P.A. if you buy a SUT they classify that as a truck= 194.00 for a plate each year

regular H2 SUV is classified as a station wagon= 35.00 per year tag

So, for an 05,06,07

Adventure:
Air suspension
Dark grill
Dark

Luxury:
Chrome grill, door handles, etc..
Rear heated seats
Dark interior
Non-Air Susp.

Did I miss anything?

Or, does it vary based on how they were ordered?

How would I indetify visually a non air suspension vs non-air suspension?

edit: ahahaha this may answer part of my question the air vs non air:

look on the dash for the air susp. switch/ under tow haul button. If it's got a button, it has teh air bags, if no button, it has coil springs.

Lux 05, 06. 07 black interior
Adv/ base 05, 06, 07 wheat interior (chrome package upgrade available on 07)
