Hockey sucks thread

With all the threads saying how different hockey teams suck, I can't figure out why anyone in their right mind would watch.

I mean, they all suck so why watch sucky teams.

ESPN's Bowling Night, in which pro athletes from sports including hockey hit the lanes, is a stalwart in a replacement lineup that's now averaging 0.7% of U.S. cable TV households on ESPN and 0.4% on ESPN2.

That might not sound like much. But consider that at this point last year, ESPN/ESPN2 had aired 46 NHL playoff games ? and drawn identical average ratings:fdance:

LAS VEGAS ? Texas Motor Speedway President Eddie Gossage says he was glad to learn that NASCAR has decided to loosen the reins on drivers this season, and as a result he has put up a ?reward? for any helmet tossed during competition.

?I?m offering $15,000 for any helmet thrown by a Cup series driver during a race between now and the April 6th Samsung 500,? Gossage said in a statement from TMS released Friday. ?I have a huge helmet collection from drivers through the years and it would be great to add to the collection.?

NASCAR officials said earlier this year that past on-track incidents involving participants in its Sprint Cup Series led to stiffer penalties for such infractions. As a result, fans have complained that much of the color and emotion has been removed from the sport.

Brian France, NASCAR CEO, said in January that officials were looking at the situation, ?and making sure that our policies of enforcement don?t make it where our drivers can?t express themselves.

I'm not in to organized sports, but you cannot bash Hockey. ****. Its the only god damn sport I can watch that does not have 14 seconds of playing followed by two minutes of debating the last play, watching replays... Blah, blah, blah. Oh, and rain delays? Nope. Not in Hockey.

Then to make themselves feel good and like men again, the figure skaters go start fights with each other over some imaginary thing they're hitting with their sticks.

Hey now. Hockey has paid my bills my entire life. I've refereed 14 years and 6 of which pro and NCAA. It's such a great game.
